I got inspired by bellyboy's PMOP articulated prime
and decided I needed to update a junker PMOP I got
in an ebay lot awhile back. I already used the trailer
for my own Powermaster prime but I never really
felt like I had a good G1- "regular" prime. I started
to add articulation to Armada Prime but I could never
get the shoulders right and in the end I scrapped that
idea and the figure. I used the legs from him though...
and the head, although to make it work on PMOP
I had to resculpt, as shown here.

The monster truck idea came about when I had to add
new wheels to him... they just seemed to work and
were big (the front ones even have real rubber tires)
so I figured he could be a monster truck.

WIP shots first, more shots to come...

EDIT: Updated with finish shots including comparisons to
RTS Jazz and my Generations Warpath.

Great idea for the leg mods. Never thought about using a Armada Prime to replace the PM legs.

    Keep up on the progress!

Edited -- see above 1st post for latest pics.
Someday I hope to make a trailer for this Optimus. I have a Roller made
though, just need to photograph it sometime after the trailer's done.

For his shoulders, I used the pin and swivel joints from a 3 3/4" Star
Trek figure (thank you Ensign Chekov!) for his shoulders. The leg
articulation was already all there, i just needed to use 2 wood screws
to hold them in place and still allow them to swivel somewhat.

The smokestacks that came with PMOP were too short, so I made
new ones from drinking straws and coffee stirrers. Prime's laser
blaster came from a dollar store KO toy.

Goddman it for you getting to do something awesome before I could get around to it. My favorite three things as a kid. Optimus Prime, Semi trucks, and Monster trucks. I have been scrounging around for bits to make a childhood tribute. Good job anyhow. :D

    I really like him!

If I didn't already have Faith Leader, I think I'd have to try something like this too. The results are pretty awesome, even if his truck mode is a bit... cartoony. :)

Wow, thanks for the great comments!

I had to look up what a Faith Leader was... that's awesome, but out of my price range.

This is pretty much my default Optimus for now. I wanted to
give him beefier arms too but everything I tried seemed too
gorilla-like or messed with the alt mode too much.

Still kickin' around ideas on how to do his trailer. Hope to get to that
    before June.
