OK, here's one I've been putting on the back burner for too long....
So I can't decide to make him as he appears through most of the cartoon with his lower left arm ripped off ...
    OR
As he appears at the very end when the Quints blast him in the ship and his whole shoulder area gets obliterated....

    I'm using DVD 20th Prime.
I will make my decision on Wed. Nov 8 (evening) so let me know what YOU think would look better !
I'm not doing 100% cartoon accuracy so it'll be a little more ZOMBIE-ish than how he appears in the cartoon.

    Thanks !
    TTT

    *UPDATE*
    AND THE WINNER IS......BOTH ! ! ! ...1 of each
Yah, why the heck not ?
I'll do one with the arm ripped off and one with the shoulder area obliterated ! DOUBLE THE FUN !...:stick: .......:D .......:ev:
It will be tough to pull off 2 of 'em but I'm thinkin 1st week of December...?...ish...?
Plus I'll be working on more/others...wish me luck !
Thanks to all who participated I appreciate the honesty ! ! ! ....

Seems right on cue with your zombie work... he looks pretty beat up. Would be a very niche custom.

Yeah, go for the look he had through most of the episode, with some of your special touch. The end death scene would be a little too over the top. Can't wait to see what you turn out for this one.

BTW, I watched the whole clip, and the narrator at the end cracked me up: "Is this the end of Optimus Prime?! Find out next week in 'The RETURN of Optimus Prime!" Worst cliffhanger segue in history, lol.

I would go with shoulder amputation.

I'd go for the way he looks at the very end. If you're going to mutilate a 20th DVD Prime, you might as well go all out. It might give you a nice opportunity to do a little sculpting of Prime's "skull" and eye socket.

I'd also suggest not using so much "staight out of the tube" black on the paintjob. Mixing black and dark browns with colors (red, blue, etc) might give a better damaged/weathered effect. A more graduated, subtle weathering would be the way to go, IMHO.

    Agreed, thanks !...
Fortunately there is some metal on this guy so that HELPS a lot when trying for damaged/weather metal, but I still gotta match it up with the damaged/weather plastic....:lol

TTT, I say go for broke, Hit Prime up as he appears at the very end when the Quints blast him in the ship and his whole shoulder area gets obliterated....

Some people "complain" that your over the top with no "story", Well this would be over the top and have a story too.

I would go for what he looks like at the end, but.... and I know you said you want to make him more zombie like.... I wouldn't do all the stuff you normally do. In this case you know specifically what happens to him, make him look like that damage happend to him naturally. On your other figures, the damage looks too random and now you have an opportunity to recreate a scene where you know what happens.

    Just my opinion.

    DO IT!

And like others have said, go all out and make it VERY accurate to the damage in the very final scene. If you're feeling really bold, make a small diaroma of the pilot's seat he's in . . .

i always thought i was a bit crap the way he got all that damage and then in the return he looks as good as new.

go for it, i'm not keen on your mirage ( never even saw the figure :(  ) but that's jealousy. go for the whole shebang on this one!

...Why not just make the damaged arm removable? Then you can have it both ways.

If I go with accurate then 80% of his body is untouched - only his head, shoulder left chest are showing damage(plus both windshields) (EDIT...and grill + right arm.)....wouldn't it be to "clean" ?

Thats what got me here in the first place, it wouldnt work cause you're putting the arm back on a damaged area that was only damaged after/while the arm came off.

    Thanks guys !

Leaving some of him clean or even less damaged would provide some much-needed contrast and help to accentuate the damage.

1 more vote for the TOTALLY broken Prime that appeared at the end of the episode. Missing eye, half a chest, no left arm, EVERYTHING!

    I can't wait to see.
