I just saw this estimate too
Early Box Office: Transformers Grabs $38 Million in First 28-Hours
This movie is going to make all its money back by the end of the week!
Very healthy indeed.
Awesome. I hope it blows the other blockbusters out of the water. They certainly deserve it.
Go Autobots! Serious, I think TFs can beat Pirates 3 which was disappointing in my books...and I believe the reason why it got such a big opening is because of the cliff-hanger in Pirates 2 and was the final episode of a trilogy.
That makes the sequel a certainty then. Looks like they achieved their aim of booting a new 3 part franchise. It's always the comic book movies isn't it? No bad thing I guess, but what about a Thundercats movie next? You'd get nostalgia, action and furry fans in one hit ^^
Bring on Transformers 2!
I watched the movie again last night with all of my friends and there was a lot of applause at the end of the movie. You know people enjoyed the movie when they clap at the end. That doesn't happen very often.
And there were people doubting it would make its money back as recently as Tuesday morning.
yes yes yes yes!!! crush the competition, Optimus!
In the words of the all mighty Megatron, "LET THE SLAUGHTER BEGIN!!!!"
Yikes. Not all that impressive, but pretty darn good never the less.
I won my bet..better go collect it at work tomorrow..
Wha...? He's predicting it'll have it's budget back in a week!!
$30M on a Tuesday doesn't impress you? Jeebus, you've got high standards.
A week? If my memory serves me right, that's still pretty poor compared to POC3, SM3, etc.. I really doubt they'll make a profit out of this movie.. (especially hearing how so many people see all these 'flaws' in the movie and think it was nothing special.)
But here's hoping..
(saw it today and loved it. Absolutely perfect.)
what was the budget to this movie?
In Sweden the people seams to love it but the critics aren't inpressed as usual.
