Optimus Prime #5 preview - Transformers News - TFW2005
You know things are crazy when even IDW Arcee of all characters is pretty unsettled.
Who wants to see Arcee beheading Wreck-Gar?
Could just be the cover but with the way Barber and Scott are force feeding us overpowered fembots, it beats Pyra Magna beating on Optimus again or Stricka blocking Combiner dropkicks I guess....
Either way I'm going to skim through their books before actually buying them for now on since Lost Light is the only ongoing TF book that I'm all that excited for these days (Still haven't picked up that TF Anual since the sneak peak still has Prime kissing Pyra Magna's ass for no good reason).
Am I the only one who really doesn't like the way Zama draws Sky Lynx?
Mm I see someone shares my thoughts on fembots in the comics.
Getting REALLY sick of your bullshit Pyra.
Ugh, all this whining about the fembots is just getting ridicules.
Once again, this artwork hurts my eyes
Since when have they been doing this retro marvel color palette? I mean I'm not complaining it just seems jarring compared to other books.
Since the first issue of the series. I personally love how it looks.
I'm really starting to appreciate Kei Zama's artwork and the detail it provides.
The problem for me is, and I think has always been, the colouring. It seems pretty out place compared with other modern Transformers comics (or any other comics for that matter). It even made me like Milne's work much less during his fill-in issue.
I like how Pyra and Arcee didn't even do anything in the preview other than talk for the complaining to start!
You'd think Soundwave would care more about his cassettes than Cosmos
The two have become friends, and Cosmos was in pretty immediate danger there.
Also, he was able to feel when Ravage died, so I imagine he's pretty confident Rumble and Frenzy aren't dead.
The coloring really makes the comic more distinctive and helps it stand out in a positive fashion.
Was nice having Milne for last issue. I think we have officially hit the dark ages for IDW transformers art. TAAO is the only book where the art is getting consistently better each month. So many incredible transformers artists have worked for both IDW and DW over the past 15 years and this is really the best they can muster?? When Livio takes over full-time duties on TAAO I'm thinking i might be done with TF comics.
Yeah, it's great how they've managed to find another incredible artist like Zama, right?
I am utterly baffled at how people can dislike her art that much to claim we're in "the dark ages" of TF art. The dark ages seem pretty great to me.
To each his own I guess. I personally think her proportions are sloppy, her lines are too dark and muddy, and the coloring does it no favors. It's better than Livio but that's about it-in my opinion.
I'm not a fan of series that changes artists so often. I suppose I'm old schooland yet this Zama looks great, with a retro touch that has a Licthestein air to it... And the Mondrian Titan in one of the Titan Return issues, confirms this trend is intended.
and I suppose I can understand people who would rather have a crisp portrayal of their fav. characters than a visually pleasing one and all the Raimondelli hate but this is such a great look I find it hard to critique with a straight face.
Livio is taking over TAAO? NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Separate names with a comma.
