optimus is a total idiot, why, becuase i just went through the episdoes and checked and found at least 3 times where optimus could have won and killed megatron if he actually used his OTHER sword. does he just up and forget he has it. i mean at the end of One Shall Fall, when megatron catches OP's sword in the air, he could have just ran megs through with the other. OP is dumb, end of line.

But I do agree that Prime is questionable. Timeline wise, he went from realizing Megatron must die to sparing him the next chance he gets because of Dreadwing's promise.. but.. I guess the situation called for it, so maybe he's not that questionable at all.

Yeah, the bit in One Shall Rise was for dramatic effect. I wouldn't say Prime is an idiot for sparing Megatron's life or anything like that, but he is an idiot for not laying out Arcee and telling her to stop running off on her revenge crusades, in the middle of a battle.

Technically, this is a meta issue (but not much of a problem) and has little to do with character intelligence. Megatron can't die for the show's sake, thus Optimus can't kill him.

 

Plus if he tried legit & then got shot in the face or something by Dreadwing, we'd lose the sense that Optimus Prime's a gentle giant of sorts, at which time people on here would be harping about how he's a ruthless bastard like people do every 30 seconds in the movie forum.

You know she does listen to his speeches at times. It could be worse he could've ended up a insensitive,crule and insulting afthole who treats his team like dirt like Animated Sentinal Prime.

 

He is fucking soft. He's by far the worst Optimus Prime we've gotten. Also, he never gets anything done. At least not without his troops or chest macguffin.

 

I think he's sometimes an idiot, but not for those reasons. Mostly because I barely believe in the same things he does and I think he should be more proactive in trying to get rid of the Decepticons and putting his team in check.

Ratchet was goddamn right in Stronger, Faster. Crazy, but right.

 

No one in this show is written to be very intelligent. Megatron probably comes closest. Or maybe Soundwave, if we knew what he was thinking. Ratchet is okay but he compensates by being ineffective. Everyone else kind of blunders around making bonehead moves. None of them seem able to think 5 seconds ahead, never mind 5 moves ahead.

 

Not true dude. Arcee manage to use her head in Armada,Bumblebee was able to qucickly save Optimus and Bulkhead in Partners,Jack was able to outsmart the Insecticon in Orion Pax part 3,and Bulkhead was pretty smart in figuring out what was happing in Wheeljack's first appearnce.

 

Back during that period, Optimus still stuck to his goal of convincing Megatron to switch his side, I believe.

You know she DOES follow orders pretty well when it doens't concern Airachnid involved right? She's really not different from Cheetor if you think about it and if he was able to improve his flwas in time which took a while then so can Arcee. Besides she's getting better at it as we've seen in Armada. That time someone had to go after Airachnid you hve to admit that at least.
