OK maybe I am in the minority here, but read on before you hit me on the head with the mallet.
Before my car accident a couple weeks ago, I was working on my Devastator (using the usual components). But my son this morning woke me up and said something unusual. What if Dev wasnt the constructicons but a different team?

Now my question is using the usual paint apps for a dev what other components would you use for a dev. So anyone else have any thoughts as well. The mind of a child is a wonderful thing isnt it, such great imaginations. So what would anyone else do for a different dev.

Different kinds of Garbage trucks/vehicles would be cool.

Easy, the Predacons. They should be much more Devastating than a bunch of construction vehicles. Hell, even Bruticus' team would be devastating since they a military vehicles.

But if it were me, I think I would go for a Demolition team style, so things like Wrecking ball cranes, battering rams, etc. Also would be useful to have an explosives expert, and a chemical warfare guy like TFA Oil Slick on hand. That would be devastating.

I like this idea. You can do swaps on some alt modes. Change hook to one of those rigs that has the fold up gantry and long drill on it (for laying charges deep), something other vehicle with a drill or big rototiller (sp?), maybe even get a bobcat in there (he could help form the head). I think that you should rethink the way they combine (and maybe even the number of the team). It is awesome what kids come up with. We're so set on what devie "is", that we sometimes lose sight of the fun factor.

To be honest, if he weren't made up of the Constructicons, it wouldn't really be Devastator. But I'm all for revamping ideas, and I do like Treadshot's take on using demolition-biased vehicles. Obviously Bonecrusher's already there, and switching Hook's hook for a wrecking ball would be nice and easy, too. It would kind of limit options, though; I can't really think of anything else along those lines except maybe one of those drill machines (like one of PCC Steamhammer's drones.

But a military angle could work, gearing all members to siege-style weapons and demolitions vehicles instead of an all-round team like the Combaticons. Obviously you'd want one of those tanks with the dozer blade. Maybe a heavy mortar, and some kind of long-range artillery (I'm no expert on military vehicles, but I used to wargame a few years ago, and I'm picturing vehicles like the Imperial Basilisk for long-range and Space Marine Vindicator for short). A drill tank could be cool (like Drillhorn or Nosecone), for taking out foundations. And I like Treadshot's battering ram and explosives specialist. Maybe that could be a mineclearing vehicle like Movie Bonecrusher; it sort of has a similar ironic twist as a Decepticon police car. :p
