I like that the DS has all the PlayStation 1 "exclusive" animated sequences without those horrendous loading times and the bonus quests/events/missions, whatever.

On the other hand, they renamed a lot; locations, bosses, names, equipment, items, etc. so I had a hard time relearning it as I played it so much on the SNES that all my characters were double starred and everyone had ridiculously powerful equipment on them.

Since you bumped and I'm bored, I finished this last week.

All items, sans some stupid 4 out of 6 Arena of Ages exclusives
    All monsters for the Encyclopedia
    All 99 except Magus @ 94
    All endings

    Great game.

I don't think you don't need a guide on any RPG. I usually use them only nowadays because I don't have so much time for playing and I want to play my other games as well. Otherwise I would spend years playing only one game, because I usually play only every few months tops. This year I finished 2 games, yeah :lol

The game is a regular DS game, but the system has a circle pad and a 3D slider. Methinks it is a 3DS :)

    Ahh, you're right.

I have a red 3DS and the color threw me off.

I've never used a guide on an RPG. Looked up a problem spot on google now and then, sure, but a whole guide? What fun is it if you have all the answers?

Unless it is Earthbound (even then it is debatable), you should not need a guide.

One cool thing about Chrono Trigger is that the Guru of time will give you clues to any sidequests that you haven't finished. The only thing that won't go away is something about someone close to you being in trouble, which I THINK was meant for a dropped sidequest to find Schala.

Honestly just get the new 3DS XL.

You get to enjoy a very good snes emulator with it.

Also the new 3DS has been hacked.

Why does everyone say you need a guide for Earthbound? I played through it a couple times - no guide.

If I remember correctly, the fights are definitely harder than your average RPG.
