Anyone know their Taobao link or name?
My best bet lowest price is there.
You're totally right. In fact, the accessibility and price of this was enough to sour me on my other TFcon purchase. MT Starscream is getting sold because he doesn't have the value and fun that this guy represents. We may be witnessing the start of something very interesting in the collector market.
Only if they scale with absolute precision! Of course scale with what is the question of all questions... but still.
My personal preference would be for this Galvatron to scale with other Generations/CHUG Leader class figures so he could face off against the upcoming Leader Rodimus Prime.
How's the plastic quality of the figure? Would you guys say the plastic is "MP quality"?
So we have a figure that fixes the problems I had with the Titans Galvy, and makes it big enough to hang out with the new leader Rodimus. I'm sold. Wonder what else they have in the pipeline
Does anyone have an idea as to when this will be available for purchase online?
for me, this guy is ticking all the boxes. I mean, how many of us have bought add ons for the TR Galvatron to get that G1 look. Now we don't really have to mess around with customising them anymore and get something that looks very close the G1 Cartoon character. Open and Play have done us all proud I would say!
Why is it no one can put size comparisons in the video reviews? There are tons of us that want to see how this compairs to leader sized figures, but all they compare it to are Masterpiece and the original figure. LAME....
That cannon mode is a mess and I think they could have made the robot mode look a little more like Galvatron.
I'm surprised none of the usual stores are carrying this (yet), and that there had been no preorders for it. From the reviews, this looks like this hits everything I look for in a modern TF--G1 accuracy, a nice sculpt, good fit-and-finish, simplicity, and a solid toy feeling. Much as I buy MPs and Third Parties, they all usually miss on the simplicity factor--it's why I got rid of Sovereign. MP-level complexity, which is what draws most people, never really did that much for me.
I hope this is the start of something more. More than that, I hope I can find a place to order it from. I'm definitely willing to support Open and Play if they plan on more figures like this.
Seriously man, how? Can you please point out a couple of examples?
His chest plate jets out in a triangle shape, it should be straight across, and it lacks the long rectangle cutout that's colored red. Also, his hip covers are all wrong too. There's really no reason to mess it up, doing it right wouldn't effect the transformation.
I see what you're pointing out about the chest shape and the hip panels being a bit off, but for what it is--a cheap, simple G1 homage--seems like we're slicing some follicles here. Reminds of when people were complaining about the shape of FT Phoenix's head not being accurate enough.
Yeah, I'm a huge fan of Galvatron and I think it looks great. Galvatron always had a wonky alt mode, so this is perfectly fine. But with all the mods, new parts and resculpted details, this is a MASSIVE improvement over the figure it was taken from.
Man I'm offline for a few days and I miss all the puns
Wheelie - Big Little?
P.S. So this guy is actually Voyager sized? Or whatever it's called - ie a replacement for the TR Galvatron? That's actually not a bad pitch, I know a lot of people liked the TR Galvy but personally I chucked mine in a closet so I wouldn't have to look at him anymore...
Maybe you notice these differences because you're a bigger Galvy fan than I. Personally, just going by memory I think this figure is already fairly accurate. At least I don't see anything that really bothers me.
I think it’s closer to leader size
In the video review a few post anove ot shows it to be a SMIDGE taller than MP10
