It's kinda obvious Kirsten doesn't know the comic books and as an actress you expect her to have some eccentric ideas for storylines. If I recall she had a few other weird ones before #3 started filming. No, for Spider-Man 4 it has to be heavy on special effects, if only because the only way to top this movie will be to recreate the Carnage 3-parter, Carnage on a rampage and Venom as the lethal protector... We went through Doc Ock, Venom, and Green Goblin, Carnage is about the only top-tier left.
Or maybe they could go with...CLONE SAGA! Ben Reilly. Kane. Female Spidey. Scoripian Spidey. ETCETERA. And when the movie ends, the audience's heads explode
No no no, Clone Saga was mind melting and confusing enough when it lasted months, let alone was down to 2 hours. If it's not Carnage, cause that would be an R rated movie, Sinister Six is the only way to top it... except that, ya know, Goblin and Ock are kinda dead...
Or are they? *Audience's heads explode* Carnage will most likely be in movie 4 to keep the audience's memory of the alien symbiote race fresh. For example, have Doc Connors create Carnage in SM4 whilst trying to grow his arm back (creation of Lizard). Basically, anything involving some scientist can be used because, as we all know, movie science = infinite creativity (think 'Nutty Professor', 'Jurassic Park' and 'Junior').
That could be very cool... that's assuming Venom is done with this movie, I wouldn't be surprised if he isn't even beaten by the time 4 is made, Carnage or not. With such a big battle with Sandman according to some screens, it would be hard to top it, even for Venom. And he has a lot of fights with Sandman, it might take up too much of the movie along with everything else going on, New Goblin, Gwen Stacy, etc... But imagine a scene where Venom gets dropped off a building or thrown into a wall and it leaves a blood splatter, then at the end they go back to that splatter and it starts moving... cliffhanger.
I'm thinking if there is a cliffhanger, it would involve Doc Connors examining the symbiote sample Peter gave him one last time before putting it in storage.

Doc Ock is never actually seen dead.... As for Spidey's "top tier," Carnage would be great if they threw in Shriek and maybe others from the "Maximum Carnage" storyline. Another top-tier one could be Morlun....
I love the series... but, and don't hit me... I think Dunst is right(the idiot)... Rami should give it a break. I'd be content with 3 being the final one... end it now before it becomes stale... Plus Tobey won't be back anyway... I actually liked his Peter Parker(I'm NOT setting myself up for THAT joke...)
Morlun might be a little too new, he was a powerful enemy and anyone who rips out Spidey's eye and eats it screams badass villain, but he's not as classic as Carnage or even some of the minors like Lizard or Kraven. Not that I'm suggesting them for the movie or anything
Hobgoblin, lizard (comon connors has been in several of the movies already), Electro, Black cat, carnage would be movie 5 or 6
Spoilers! Do not highlight if you do not want to know how Venom is defeated in the movie! In the novel for Spiderman 3 the symbiote is defeated with sonics and all that remains of Eddie Brock is a smouldering skeleton.
I hope they don't do Carnage, he is such a weak character. I would rather see Electro, Vulture, Chameleon, another Goblin, the Slayers, etc....
Ja. I love Carnage, but what's all this classic character talk? He's a rip off of Venom and the Harry Osbourn Goblin. Living costume and batshit insane? Meh. Boring on film and nothing but a reminder of the 90's Bad Girl trend and Speculation market. I'd rather see Lizard, Vulture, Electro, Chameleon, HobGoblin, Mysterio, Hydro Man, Rhino or Scorpion make an appearance before Carnage.
