David kaye is an awsome guest, and i'll be glad to meet him, but frankly, the lack of guests at a botcon THIS SIGNIFICANT is the only thing that has me botherd. You would think that michael bay and steven S would be there, as well as alot of the movie cast, and mr. cullen himself for sure.... but, no word on any other special guests...  


is there a chance there will be surprise guests?

So it seems there are more guests, just that for 1 reason or another they haven't been formally announced yet

Personally I'm hoping Tom DeSanto's a special guest. At least for the BotCon advanced screening. Where he'll pow-wow with us to see what we thought of the end result

 

ok, so we got a few good guests, but still a disapointment on the lack of actual movie personalities. youd' think that THIS would be th eplace tp be, to get a dedicated fan base, and true appreciation and interaction with the fans, not a standard movie priemier.

My suspicion is that the guest lineup will draw heavily from the movie, and that due to bigger stars being involved they either aren't announcing them in advance or are waiting until a week or two in advance to announce them.

 

I agree w/ you on that, KidDynamite. The other big con I go to, Dragon*Con in Atlanta over Labor Day, has done the same thing. Most are listed well in advance, but I recall in 2005, they were trying to get the Hobbits from LOTR in as guests of honor, and this was up until the first week of Aug, as they were in negotiations.

I'm hoping for Cullen or David Keith, myself.

agreed, and i'm not to sure how many fan conventions jon voight gets to go to, but i'm sure he's due for one  

 

I highly doubt we'll see Bay or Spielberg there, maybe Don Murphy or Peter Cullen.

 

They say they have some surprises, so I think anything is possible. I'm hoping for Cullen, Dan Gilvezan. I doubt Voight or Turturo will be there, but Shia or Megan Fox are certainly possibilities.

But given the number of people who are offended by this take on Transformers, the movie people may fear being tar and feathered.

 

Good point - maybe they won't come out til the end... provided fan reaction is positive (which at this point, and for the extra $$, why would you go if you completely hate this incarnation of TF???).

 

I think it'd be very silly not to have some of the VAs there, but we do get to see the movie early after all.

 

Anyone acting in such an unsavory way would deserve to get backhanded across the mouth.

Besides those people are part of the loud-minority and probably don't have the cajhones or even the physical stature to back it up. So let's say Tom DeSanto or Murphy were the other movie related guests. IMPO they'd have nothing to fear

 

I was for the most part being a little silly with the comment. I seriously doubt anyone is going to travel all the way to Botcon, just to bitch out the movie people. If someone did I'm sure they would become fairly unpopular for the rest of the convention.

You have my permission to backhand anyone displaying that kind of rudeness. Maybe they'll have a camera crew there and you can end up as an easter egg on the eventual dvd. "This is how we treat people who don't like Transformers the Movie" I can see the advertising blitz now.
