I'm curious, has this ever happened in the TF universe? Say an Autobot needs a defense weapon, so he grabs a smaller 'Con and uses it as a shield to block shots, which is eventually gonna kill the 'Con-Shield. I like how that sounds, and I'm curious as to if it has ever happened.

In the movies? Not to my knowledge.

In "the Transformers universe" as you stated? Yes. In "Code of Hero", Dinobot fights Inferno, and then proceeds to use Inferno's body as a shield when BlackArachnia starts pounding him with bullets.

 

Arcee did it in Prime once.

I'd love to see a Con use an autobot as a shield. Preferably Megatron using Sentinels body to protect himself from Optimus. It still wouldn't do much though:/

 

in the unicron triloge there was a mincon team that became a shield. id say if the micon was designed to be a shield then it should work

 

I'm sure I've seen it happen in the comics a few times. I have vague flashes of memory but I can't pin them down to specifics.

Megatron did sorta use Hot Rod in the 1986 movie which kept Optimus from firing. Although Hot Rod caused that to happen since he jumped on Megatron and Megs grabbed him so maybe it's not quite the same thing.

 

The closest thing I've seen to a Cybertronian shield in the movies (excluding the actual shield used by Sentinel) was Optimus flinging both Starscream and Grindor's decapitated arm into Megatron in the forest fight.

With all the plot armor The Beef has, hiding behind him makes you nearly invincible.

 

And his screaming attacks are always on the offensive, so you're pretty much set.

 

Megatron uses Optimus Prime as a shield at one point in one of the finales (I believe the second, when they were fighting the Starscream army).
