So, as everyone says "g1 is dead". But, what if it wasn't?

Now hear me out, i'm not saying revive G1. But instead what if there was a hour and thirty minute 80's style animated movie? I don't see how it could fail, really the only drawback would be pulling the resources together.

But, instead of a Transformers media form meant to sell toys. Just, a kick ass 80's adventure akin to that of Lensman, and Genisis surviver Gaiarth.

Would you watch it? Would you Support it?

I'ff watch anything Transformers flavoured, but I don't think it'd be in anyway popular really (plus we already have the IDW comic series as a G1 continuity not connected to a toyline)

    G1 is dead? Uh... no?

IDW, War for Cybertron and the Classics toys would like a word with you.

Oh hai IDW, War for Cybertron, and The Classics Toys! How is your sex life?
Two of you are revisted themes, and the other is a reboot? Gasp. Do tell me how you fit that in your mouth!

It'd be nice, but I don't think the conditions are in place for it to be profitable, and thus, worthwhile doing.

Continuing a continuity set aside almost a quarter century ago, such that it's key demographic will be far outside the age range such a medium would target, is folly from a business sense. For example, while the TFTM DVD is difficult to find now (as its having some nonsense in terms of distribution), it shelfwarmed like nobody's business before then. Even the G1 DVDs, despite the popularity of the show, have performed poorer than expected.

You could probably do a series of shorts though, especially if they were done as webisodes or inserts with generations figures. That would cost a lot less and in a lot of ways accomplish the same things.

G1 will never die, it just gets distilled into other versions of TF lore.
