Maybe it's just me, but the feet on Ironhide when he got out of the pool looked different than the rest. Just throwing that out there.

And as much I like Linkin Park, "The Voices" segment there proves that the last scene would have been much better which an orchestrated song. Though I'm sure it was a given anyways.

Ironhide was as tall as the tree beside him and Jazz could fit into that car exhibition space (though not the door). Maybe they just resized the bots.

Not to mention you don't even see a full protoform in good lighting so you can take in all the details.

Just by that one line, I have to say...I'm REALLY impressed with Charlie Adler's Starscream voice. In the "Voices" clip, you hear "I live to serve, Lord Megatron" without any processing, and it sounds fantastic. The movie killed the voice with too much processing. Made it sound too deep, which made it lose the distinctiveness that came with the high-pitch unprocessed voice.

All the protoforms were identicle, only sized differently.

You can see in the Blackout transformation test in that video he was supposed to look a bit more Soundwave-ish.

Yeah, I'll agree that there are obvious similarities, and they most likely used the same model, but there's still a part of me that doubts it based on how Ironhide's feet look different.

If you go with the 'Budget' theory, then the Protoforms for Optimus, Ratchet, Jazz, and Ironhide looked alike because they didn't have the funds to individualize the characters before they chose their Alternate Modes. Another theory is that Ben Procter might've ran out of ideas by the time he came up with the Protoforms.

I mean, they couldn't have looked all the same on Cybertron --- look at Megatron for an example (unless his chosen Cybertronian Jet Alternate Mode is an actual vehicle on their home planet) --- how confusing would that be. I'm going to go with the character designs they presented in the Prequel comic book despite it not being cannon to the film If I remember correctly. Besides, they all have different designs after choosing their vehicle modes.

They're robots. Sophisticated robots. They must have some kind of electronic signature identification thingy, even our technology has that. Not that I actually want everyone to look the same.

I don't know how, but the Cullen part at the end of "the voices" almost made me cry...

To be honest when I read your post...I thought...yeah you are fucked up...but then I watched it again...and I realized....no...you're not...!!!!

I know that for me...the whole Transformers experience reminds me of a time when the world was signifacantly more innocent...now....I just see Hell.....The world is so skewed that what is right has become wrong and what is wrong has become right...Kids are the parents..parents are the kids...Criminals are the victims..and victims are the criminals...

Cullens voice takes me away from that...and that will bring a tear to the eye...

Wow, the early designs looked a lot more "G1-ish".

Like I said in the other thread about this, it was likely a film making conceit to have all the protoforms the same to keep their identities a mystery until they assumed a vehicle form and transformed.

Also, it is also possible that the protoform transition modes are simply another form (body and all) they assume for long range travel, with Megatron being the exception.
