Confused on when megs and SP made the deal together.

If it was back on Cybertron, why did the decepticons still shoot down the Ark.

And when the Ark was looted by decepticons, Megs was still frozen.

And i guess on a whole other plot whole, if the 'cons has had an army on the moon for decades why not get megs free earlier

liked the movie but not a put together trilogy.. no forthought

Remember when Starscream says "so this was your plan." It looks like Megs told very few people about it and as a result Sentinel was shot down.

Even with the army on the moon they couldn't do anything if they don't know where he is. It's not until Frenzy discovers the Allspark and Megatron that they know where he is. Then Starscream mobilizes the troops and shoots the power plant to the damn.

Probably only Megatron and Sentinel knew about his impending defection (and certainly not Sentinel's crew, one of whom was Ultra Magnus btw). So the Decepticons saw another fleeing Autobot cargo ship. I think this was implied, as not even Starscream knew.

The only outlier to the trilogy's time-problem is when-exactly did Megatron crash into earth. The Ark, was implied (or directly stated), went crashing through Space-time, so even if it vanished thousands of years ago, it emerged in the 60s. Megatron crashing into the Arctic 14,000 years ago, as the original movie stated, doesn't make much sense anymore.

More likely, Megatron probably vanished several hunded years ago, and his forces scattered as a result.

Well remember Megatron came to Earth chasing the Allspark so was probably a direct flight from Cybertron. Who knows where the Ark drifted until it crashed in to the Moon, so it is still possible that Megatron had been on Earth for that long.

Problem with that though is that the "prehistory" scene in RotF (the opening scene) takes place in 17,000 BC (so 19,000 years ago), and it involves the Fallen, his first generation Decepticons (as opposed to Megatron's 2nd Generation) and the Primes. Only 5000 years between the fall of the Dynasty of the Primes, which no Transformer knew about, and Megatron vanishing seems... off. Especially when seemingly nothing happened in the intervening 14,000 years other than the Transformers scattering. And this "Final Battle" Optimus speaks of, was it when Megatron left? or after he left?

It just makes it easier on the brain if Megatron and Optimus had been waging war since like, 10,000 bc, until Megatron vanished in the late 18th century, with nary a word on his fate for about 220 years.

Bay probably wanted to keep it fresh, than just optimus and megatron beating 6 bells out of each other. And in the end it actually worked out better than expected
