I was at Target today looking for new Alts, and a very friendly (and cute) young lady was putting new toys out on the shelf, she asked me if she could help me with anything, and I told her I was looking for alternators, and pointed out the empty shelf space.

She then asked me if I wanted her to look in the back (this girl has to be the best Target employee EVER), she goes to check and says that they came up as "on location" and said it pretty much meant they didn't have any - but I'm confused - what exactly does "on location" mean?

She probably misread it ,and it probably said "Employees on vacation"

    Or "New Alt constipation"

must be from a different part of the country is my guess. Some places say you are IN line to see a movie, others say ON line to see a movie.

I think she means the toys are already out on the shelves.

I'm not a Target employee but from my experiences, that usually means that they are somewhere in the store. Normally, they can call in back and have someone do a location check.

Don't your stores have the little scanners with the keypads where you can type in the DPCI?

Gotta love them hot dayside chicks. They totally make my day.

    Ahem.

On location- I'm not really sure, but probably one of two things.
    1) since the toy aisles are transitioning over in a couple days, a lot of toys are being kept on bulk pallets, shrink wrapped, and stored in the warehouse section of the back. Nothing in there would be located, so the system couldn't find it, but it would still know that there are some on site. Since alts are out, that shouldn't be the case, but us backroom types can get lazy sometimes.

    2) It may mean that they're out of stock and on location is just saying that yes they have a shelf spot.
