Dunno how recent this is but I got a call from my sister last week about this.

Steam is selling 4 Lucas Arts adventure games for a cheap as dirt price, and the nice thing is that they're setup to run on newer systems! The 4 games are Indiana Jones: The Last Crusade, Indiana Jones: The Fate of Atlantis (Twin Twist, if you havent checked this game out already, do it, best Indie adventure ever! :D ), LOOM, and The Dig.

I've only ever played The Dig and Fate of Atlantis but I've heard good things about Last Crusade & LOOM. The Dig is also one of the most orignal sci-fi adventures I've ever seen, I can't even compare it to anything.

Pardon my ignorance, but these are all point and click titles, right?

YOU IGNORANT SON OF A ALLSPARK!

    Kidding! :D

Yeah, all of them are ponit-and-click adventures, like Monkey Island &, Sam & Max. Even use the same SCUMM engine for it.

It's a really cool little world with some great voice acting and a unique puzzlesolving method. Big downsides are it's rather short, and was written to kick off a franchise that...didn't kick off, so there are some loose ends. I still think it's a great Lucasarts point'n'clicker though.

Steam is pure gamer love incarnate. Hoping they do another market-wide sale at the end of the month like they did last year.

This. As much as I love LA adventure games, they didn't get it entirely right until SOMI and I find it a bit of a chore playing the stuff before that. Loom is sort of on the margin thougth, mainly because its too easy rather then other gameplay or design issues.

Fate of Atlantis and The Dig are still worth full retail alone thougth. I'd buy if I didn't still have originals and if SCUMMVM wasen't loads better then LA's own modern SCUMM interpreter.

Man I miss the old point and clicks.
    Full Throttle was a hoot.
Sam and Max never (NEVER) gets old
I haven't played The Dig in so long, it'd be a special day for me to re-start.

All we need is the Hamster in a microwave edition of Maniac Mansion.

i loved old LA point and clicks if u ask me this is a genre that needs a reimagining a"great" and i emphasize great new pointandclick needs to come out. some game critics have counted this genre out and says it has grown stale and has no new ideas. but this is where games like proffesor layton and the attorney games are kinda breathing life into the genre. but a really good new gen point and click game is sorely needed.
