This custom figure was built to help support the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation charity auctions ran by Warriorpriest ( http://www.tfw2005.com/boards/creat...oundation-charity-auction-customs-thread.html ). I'm about two months late, but... better late than never, right? You'd be surprised with a figure so small, but this project was the biggest pain in the ass I've had in a long time. Just set back after set back... even while taking pictures! I'm glad it's over. Omega Spreem pwns me.

Omega Spreem was made using a DC-51 Loto Gundam figure. Admittedly, the altmode is pretty lame. Gundams have never been the best about transforming, though.

Custom Autobot logo done by Boggs.

    Enjoy the pictures.

That has got to be one of the laziest alt modes I've ever seen.
I don't think you transformed it properly though, the tank mode is supposed to lie flatter than that.

LOL, I know! Gundams... anyway, the 'mistransformation' is actually one of the set backs that I mentioned in the OP. When posing the figure mid-construction, the hips joints were so tight that the ball joints sheared off at the posts completely inside the hip sockets and I had to find a similarly sized Gundam model in my parts bin to replace the respective pieces. As a result, the figure isn't able to lay as flat as it was originally.

You can see the difference in the hips when comparing the figure here to the original model below:

Loto? Looks like the old F91 Guntank to me... I guess it's based on the same design.

Anyway, it's a nice little Omega Supreme idea! I like it... though it also conjures Roadbuster in those colours.

The Loto is from Gundam Unicorn, and a predecessor to the R-44 Guntank from F91. It's small mobile suit used for support and infiltration into colonies and other structures in space. The transformation is pretty simple, but it's more for easy mobility inside smaller passages of colonies and whatnot. I'd say that's the thing that sets mobile suits and Transformers apart. Transforming mobile suits tend to be more about function than form. It's about being able to operate in different combat situations rather than trying to resemble a certain type of vehicle. Also bear in mind that Gundam mecha tend to be released as both toys and model kits, and model kits don't lend themselves very well to complex transformations. Older designs like the Zeta Gundam or machines that weren't made with toys in mind like the EX-S Gundam are clear illustrations of what can happen in mobile suits that are just too complicated. Their Master Grade kits are a mess, and smaller versions of the mecha either don't transform at all or take strong liberties to do so.

This custom isn't exactly my cup of tea, but good effort. :D

AutobotX23 actually did a Roadbuster with the same model kit. When you buy the Loto kit, there are two sets of part sprues in the box. I bought the second figure off of him. :)

    Thanks for looking, everyone.

Yup, if it is scaled at 1/100 instead of 1/144.

Anyways, as for this custom, I like it alot. The color choices are excellent.
I think Vangelus would approve. He now only need his wimmenz...:D

Omega Spreem's alt mode was just as lazy as this one, so its not really lazy at all.

Been going through some ideas for making a custom Omega Spreem, and I came across this. I was originally thinking of making his alt mode an Omega Train from Energon, but this seems far more appropriate. I think this will give me some nice inspiration...
