I'm not that great of a skateboarder, I've only been skating a few weeks, and I'm trying to Ollie, but I just can't get it. I'm popping the tail and sliding my front foot(or at least try to) but I can't get the board to get off the ground or higher than 1 inch. Help?
pop hard the second u hear the sound (or feel the ground) slide ur ur other foot (the 1 not poping) forward and up along with the board then as ur food is slideing pick up the foot u poped with i sugest try to Ollie on carpet with a board with out any gear on it...just the board with grip tape on it
Make sure you lift your feet up high enough. And it's more of a quick snap of your feet against the board, instead of just pushing the tail down. Have faith Also dont use the tip of your foot, but instead the bottom front half of your foot, you'll have better air & landing control Practice on a trick board with no wheels or trucks You'll get it, you'll be kickflipping in no time, and the more bruises you get , the bigger your balls will grow for trying new tricks.
yep... try to make it one smooth motion....it took me 3 weeks to get them ok when i started skateing 6 years ago......
Thanks, I think my problem is that I don't pop it hard enough and bend my knees in far enough. How long does it usually take? Dayvcon said about 3 weeks, how long for the other people?
Depends on how committed you are into nailing it. As long as you keep trying, you'll get it It took me like 2 months , but was jumping garbage cans after that
I was skating back in the 80's man when skating was real underground. The big ol wide boards. The point is, you have to practice everyday, everyday. If my foot wasnt messed up I would make you a video on how to ollie. You can probally look something up. You know you are doing some good ollies when you shoes start tearing up. Good luck man, exspect lots of ass landings
Yeah, the side of my Etnies are now Ftnies after like a week, will all your shoes get messed up quickly?
Regular skateboarding was cool about 8 years ago. Go get a longboard and find some hills. Old school Dogtown is the way to go.
