So, the sheer creativity with respect to design has been one of the more staggering aspects of this series. From Quadruped speedsters with minicons to train surgeons, this series has it all.
With that being said, I find now would be a great opportunity to introduce innovative new takes on older characters, so let me ask, "What villains from other tf properties so you think would fit well with rid, and how should they be handled?"
The number of animalistic cons in this series leans itself to that, so be it characters from beast wars, machines, or other shows, sound off!
I recommend proposing changes.

Here are some examples
I'd like to see the classic predacons appear, as they have beastial qualities to them, much like the cons on this show. Perhaps they could be impressive for combiner force!

I'd like to see BW Quickstrike appear, as he is an often neglected villian with an impressive alternate mode.

I'd like to Cybertron scourge appear, as his namesake is too often used for space boats and black primes, so seeing a three headed dragon would be sweet! Perhaps here, he is predacon in the tfp sense.

 

I'd like to see Waspinator and Terrorsaur.

 

I'd love for SkyByte to show up.

None. As the op said. The greatest strength of rid is its unique decepticon designs. We get enough g1 rehashes as it is. Let rid be its own thing

Sunstorm. Introduce him as a Starscream clone that Shockwave created after Predacons Rising. It would show us what happened to Shockwave after Prime and would give Hasbro a chance to reuse the Starscream mold.

 

Plus his Dreamwave personality would be all kinds of food for RID.

 

You know what just occurred to me? This series would be perfect to reintroduce Breastforce! Think about it, they're a combiner team (combiner force) with microns (deployers) and all have animal motifs! They could still have their trademark animalalistic and humanoid forms helmets,ala razorpaw and conform to all of the line's most recent gimmicks! Imagine a combiner force- 6 deluxe Liokaiser!

 

Scourge, Thrust, Thundercracker, Thunderwing, Demolisher, Tidal Wave, Blitzing, Octane, Astrotrain, Lugnut, Sky Byte, and Thunderblast.

I don't expect most of them to appear, though I expect Seekers as they're easy repaints.

IF Megatron returns it would be nice if he would do it as Galvatron.
The Seacons would be cool in RID too.
But i mainly would like Steeljaw, Thunderhoof, Quillfire, and especially Saberhorn and Glowstrike to come back.
Also: Quintessons and BW Megatron.

I really want to see what happened to Megatron, Shockwave, and Predaking after Prime ended. I know Predaking showed up in an RID comic, but I don't know if those comics are part of the show's continuity or their own continuity.

As for characters from other properties, I think Sky-Byte would fit the show pretty well. I would love to see Waspinator in another cartoon, but I'm not sure if RID could get away with blowing him to scrap every other episode (this is a more kid-friendly show, after all), even if it's non-fatal to him. The Seacons would be great, too.

 

Given RiD's unique aesthetic I think now would be a good time to go back over some of the old Beast Wars/Machines characters and give them a new lease on life.
