I've only had my 360 since January of this year and have gotten quite a few games especially those recently released but I was wondering what am I missing from years past that are still worth playing today? I thinking more in terms of adventure/action/platform/rpg/adventureFPS etc Thanks and sorry for such a generic question.
Oooh good question, lemme consult my list of played games and get back to you. Bioshock Bulletwitch can be picked up for about a tenner and is fun. Same with Earth Defense Force 2017. Neither are "stellar" but fun all the same, EDF especially so in split screen. Lost Planet is great. Plays a little weird compared to western games, but if you can get past that it's awesome. CRACKDOWN!
Well, some games I've enjoyed that came out before this year: Mass Effect, Bioshock, Lost Odyssey (great if you like JRPGs), Condemned 1 and 2, Fable 2, Fallout 3, Oblivion, Devil May Cry 4, GTA4, Gears of War 1 and 2, Halo 3, Dead Space, and Star Wars Forced Unleashed. Well, there's more, but that should keep you busy for a long time. Personally, I still say Mass Effect is the best current generation game if your in any way into RPG's or sci-fi shooters or good games in general.
some people seem to rag on it, but i loved dead rising. one of the best 360 games imo. those who don't like the save system probably haven't played the game for that long and are made out of of wet toilet paper.
I was scanning Amazon and they have Lega Star Wars: Complete Saga for like £13, which is pretty cool. I'm not a hardcore gamer in the sense that when i've tried Fallout and Oblivion, its been far too open ended, i've felt lost and overwhelmed while playing, which just makes me wanna turn it off. Bioshock seems like a good suggestion, but is that and The Orange box the only older FPS's worth playing?
Dynasty Warriors Gundam - Cheap, time consuming and mindless button mashing fun. If you like Gundam or the Dynasty Warriors games check it out. Earth Defense Force 2017 - Like Twin Twist said. Not great, but still a pretty good fun 3rd person shooter. Bioshock - Dont think about it, just get it and enjoy it. If you dont mind dipping into the original xbox backlog, I'd go for: Burnout 3 Takedown - I love this game. My favourite from the Burnout series overall, cheap AI and all. Jurassic Park: Operation Genesis - If you liked the movies give this a try, it might be right up your alley. Halo 2 - I know it gets a lot of flak from the internet, but I really enjoyed Halo 2, far more than 1 or 3. Plus, thats one long ass single player mode. Because multiplayer is pretty much worthless now for it, I'd only go for it if you can find it cheap. Fable - If you liked the second, Im sure you'd enjoy the first... then again, if you played 2 you probably played 1 aswell. Destroy All Humans - A pretty unique 3rd person shooter-ish game. Really hard to describe, Im sure youtube can demo it a lot better than I can. Theres a couple more I forgot, but Im sure others will probably mention them.
Gears of War is pretty good. Big second vote to Crackdown, Mass Effect & Force Unleashed. Plus there's always the Halo series. Also if you want to go all the way back to the original Xbox lineup I recommend Crimson Skies, Psychonauts & Panzer Dragoon Orta.
This! And this! Also 99 Nights, Fight Night and Marvel Ultimate Alliance should be on the cheap. And don't forget Pac-man CE for XBLA.
And while not super old, check out Castle Crashers on Live. Best beat em up I have played since Streets of Rage.
I've got that, and I agree its really good. At first I wasn't too keen but the more I progressed the more I enjoyed it.
well obviously all of the Halo series. I would also suggest Perfect Dark Zero. Call of Duty 2, Modern warfare, and World @ War. Gears of War. Dead Rising. Far Cry. To be honest, I also liked Cameo. A kiddish game, but still fun.
