Has anyone seen the new trailer for the Transformer DVD thats coming out right away? Looks as if they're doing a 20th anniversary edition of the old Transformers movie, I cant wait to get this.

Judging by your "Member since: Oct. 06" in your ID box, I'm gonna let you know that you are a teeny bit behind in the news. I know what it's like to be new since I have only been here since this summer, but make sure you read up on the news from at least the past month so the admins don't get annoyed with you.

Yes, it is cool. I am very excited and totally plan on buying the dvd. Hopefully they'll release it on Bluray too.

crap sorry man. :dunce  yeah,I know I'm behind. seems like I always am in these types of things. still, I can't wait for this. I grew up with these things, so I was a little stoked and felt like sharing it.Maybe I'll go and find the other thread about the DVD to talk about it in there

Hopefully BR will die quickly so that TF can be released on HD-DVD, which has proven to be the superior format. The only thing BR has going for it is studio support, but that will change soon.

Please, let's not start a lame Blueray vs. HD-DVD debate. Do that on a Sony forum somewhere else.

That doesn't look remastered. Not at all. Now something like Z Gundam: A new translation is digitally remastered. Also what is the point of watching the movie if they show it all in the trailer? Seriously, this world....

Hmm... is it just me or does that not look remastered? Oh well, I'm not really getting this DVD set for the actual movie anyways considering I've already got Kid Rhino's DVD release of it. No, I'm getting it for all the kick ass extra features! :rock

He wasn't laughing at you, he was referring to the awesome Flash Gordon theme that Queen did in the 80's :rock

What's sad though is that it really isn't widescreen (16:9).

They cut the tops off of the frame to make it widescreen so this "remastered" version actually has less animated elements at the top and bottom.

I noticed this during the Hasbro panel at Botcon.

I skipped the movie premiere at the con but I just can't believe they are calling it widescreen when they "altered" it to widescreen.

Yeah. I know it is just semantics but this is the same trick we used to do in animation school for our projects to make them look widescreen 35mm instead of the 16mm we shot them on.
