    OK, update:
The casting agency contacted me back saying that they had filled all the slots for that show, so mine wouldn't be needed---BUT, they also have this show on the National Geographic Channel that's doing something very similar to the collecting piece the Learning Channel was doing..but I guess a bit more serious..and they want to use my stuff for that one..BUT, now the change, they want me to find people in my life who DON'T get or appreciate the hobby, why I do it etc, and kind of do a point/counter point off it. So while I guess I'll still try..being as I kinda do this stuff on my own, and don't bother with the people that don't get it so much in my life..I mean..maybe I can find someone like that..but I dunno. I've never had to worry or concern myself with what anyone else thought of it..I keep this mostly to myself really, my gf, that's it..

    "Hello-
I came across a posting of yours on a Transformer Forum and would like to talk to you about your collection. I work for a casting agency in Los Angeles and we are currently casting the second season of TLC's "My Crazy Obsession". We are focusing this season on people who have an extreme collection and are incredibly passionate about that collection. I noticed that you have in excess of 1000 transformer items and feel like that puts you in the running. I would love to speak with you about your collection and how much time and effort you put into expanding it.

Please give me a call or shoot me an email so that we can talk. We are on a tight schedule with the network, so the sooner the better!
Look forward to speaking with you."

So I went ahead and first verified it was legit, and then contacted them and the lady called me almost immediately to discuss what this all was. The show
    My Crazy Obsession: TLC
Sure, little on the weird side and it looks like they like to kinda make fun..but hey..if I actually make it on..SWEET! They're sending me some paper work to go over and I have to make this video introduction to be submitted for the producers to go over...but wow. Random. And kinda cool.

    DO NOT DO IT.

Seriously, I've seen this show. The reason they call it "My Crazy Obsession" is because they make the people who show up on the show looks like psychological nutjobs who do not belong in society. 15 minutes of fame is not worth the lifetime of embarrassment for what that show can do to you.

Please don't. We don't need the rest of the world thinking we're all crazy obsessed freaks. (even though that's exactly what I am)

Guys, I have my own place, I'm employed at a university, I have a long term gf, I shower regularly, have a new car, I wear dress clothes..I'm pretty stable. Maybe I wouldn't be weird enough for them..But I think I meet the obsessive part..

Honestly, I'd do it almost without question.

... although at the same time, I'm someone who'd think it hilarious to get destroyed by Ryback on raw after cutting an intentionally horrible promo, simply because I'm a fan of the product.

None of that matters to then, and with the magic of editing, it would be more than easy to make you look like a crazy nutcase collector.

    ROFL!

Sad truth is that reality tv, even these shows, are almost as far from reality as this past weekends released films. So much of reality is scipted, rigged and utterly fake. Even these shows that show the lives of people, they make sure to alter things to make it more intresting, even if it means you, while being filmed, appear to be a perfectly well manured individual. By the time they finish in the editing booth they can make you look like anything they want.
