I'm just now in the middle of metal attraction and and Airachnid appears to have her spider form again after changing to a helicopter form in crisscross. I haven't seen ep 19 yet and watched a couple minutes of the beginning of ep 20 where it looks like airachnid has her helicopter form again. So, what gives? Am I missing something? Or is she just conveniently changing back and forth for whatever is more convenient or is she a triple changer now or?

She's a triple changer as far as we know.

    She has three forms:

Bot, Copter, and a halfway spider mode that can function as a drill.

She's not a triple changer (though I could see the toy being sold as much). She folds her legs in and extends her spider legs to go from humanoid to spider-bot. They aren't insulting us by pretending that's a transformation.

She can use all components of her alt form in many different ways. She mostly uses her robot mode, "spider' walker mode and helicopter mode, though. Buts he uses her legs as drills often, but since she doesn't transform to do so (with no transformation noise) it's not really a "mode." Just something she does.

She's about as much a triple changer as the Beast Wars Transmetals.

Think "Transmetal" from Beast Wars. She has two forms, robot and helicopter, and a sort of third, transportation mode designed for faster movement.

I think she can be considered a triple changer by now.

Seriously, how many times is this gonna come up?

Basically, she makes excellent utility of her kibble. That's really all there is. She's not a triple-changer, she's a Transmetal.

    Yeesh.

I watched a lot of Beast wars but know little to nothing about transmetals. So, if I haven't seen it, it's new to me.

And thanks to all of you for all the help in trying to clear it up. I was only curious. Not complaining because i think its cool. And I HOPE they make a toy of her and pull of what she is capable of. That would be almost as good as finally getting a Slipstream toy!

The Transmetals (barring the Transmetal 2s) all had a halfway-point transformation, such as Cheetor's 'flight mode' or Rattrap's 'wheeled rat' mode. Airachnid's spiderleg mode is similar to those, and her drill mode is literally just arranging her spider legs differently and spinning.

Also, sorry if I seemed aggravated, it's just that this seems to be an incredibly common question and brought up at least once every couple of days by someone. Nothing against you.

    not a triple changer.
simply her robot modes legs combine, then she uses her, "spider" legs/arms to walk.
i havent seen the latest 2-3 episodes yet, but i have yet to see a spider/beast mode, i have only seen a robot mode(with 2 options for walking), and a helicopter mode.

It's cool. No hard feelings. So, what you're describing as transmetals is that basically what they were in Beast machines? I watched BW and BM but haven't seen them all and haven't watched any at all since they went off the air way back when so my memory is clouded but I do remember Rattraps wheels in BM.

Naw, in BM they were considered "Technorganic". An equal blend of their technological Robot forms, and their organic Beast modes. They only had the two forms, while Transmetals were as follows:

    Robot Mode
    [IMG]

    Beast Mode
    [IMG]

    Transport Mode
    [IMG]

The Robot and Beast modes are different from each other, as is the norm for Transformers. However the Transport mode is very similar to the Beast mode, as it is, for the most part, just an extension of that form. Airachnids "spider-mode" is pretty much the same thing, albeit with her robot rather than her alt-mode.

The F.N.G. explained it above. The Transmetals were in season 2 and 3 of Beast Wars, first appearing in the episode 'Aftermath.' The Transmetals and their halfway modes include:

Megatron (seen above) with pop-out VTOL engines and... er, rollerblades.
Tarantulas with deploying wheels for a 'spider-motorcycle' mode
Rattrap with deploying wheels for a wheeled rat mode
    Cheetor with pop-out flight boosters
Rampage with a tank turret and treads
Optimus Primal with a deploying... air surfboard
    Depth Charge with reconfiguring wings

I never thought of Airachnid as a Transmetal.

    Cool. :)

If you're counting the spider mode as a transformation then shes a quad changer with the drill mode too

I count the the drill as an ability of her spider/half-spider mode.
