My daughter loves the transformer movies and it would be fun to take her to this one. She can handle all of the Harry potter movies just to give you a compass.. Would you say this movie is too intense for my kid that liked the other movies/harry potter movies or is this one too much compared to the last 2 films? Thanks for your replies in advance!
There's a lot of humans dying, on screen and not something implied like Blackout's base pwning introduction in the first movie. Dead bodies and even a skull at one point. A bit of language from some bots as well.
If she watched all the previous Transformers movies plus Harry Potter films, I don't see what could stop her from watching this one.
I think it's a bit graphic to be honest. There are a lot of execution style deaths. There's also the issue of language and sexual innuendo.
If you have issues with language, then it isn't fit for a 6-year old. My daughter's almost 9, and I'm considering taking her to see it. Some of the language is very direct, but the violence really isn't over the top. Sure, some humans get dissintegrated and a family gets killed off-screen. Probably the worst is Optimus' killing spree, but even that isn't too bad.
I had the same question of my 6 year old son... I was asking myself the same question in regards to my 6 year old son. He is as much a transformers fan as i am and is really crazy about seeing the movie. I have tickets for Imax 3D for tomorrow night but i know this movie is really graphically violent. Executions and skulls floating around, etc. But then; he was ok with ROTF which was violent too. If anyone that has seen the movie wants to advise and give their two cents in the matter, please jump on this thread. Thanks.
I saw a 3-4 year old girl watching it 3 hours ago. The only thing stopping you is the use of shit every 10-20 minutes.
The innuendo jokes are quick and sometimes hard to catch, so I don't think it'll be much of a problem. Your daughter will be mesmerized by the CGI. The only thing she'd probably get a little creeped out by would be Laserbeak's brief "Is your Daddy home?" scene.
I took my 6 year old to ROTF and he was fine. He knows better than to repeat the language he heard though.
Would I take a 6 year old to see it? Most certainly not. Is it ok for YOUR 6 year old? Read some spoilers below and decide Spoiler discussion of sam's sex life and how he should please a woman Spoiler numerous human deaths by falling, crushing, fire, vaporization, etc. Spoiler brutal robot death and dismemberment in a loud and gritty fashion Spoiler some cursewords
Pretty graphic in some of the deaths. Multiple human corpses as well as some nasty robot dismemberment.
Of course. If someone is too to understand the innuendo, how can it be inappropriate for that person?
So basically, you're saying no harm (too young to understand), no foul (not inappropriate). Are you just talking about the innuendo or everything I listed?
idk I'd let my kid but I also don't have kids and I'm super liberal. Put in context i think it's okay. i remember some shits, asshole and bitch but otherwise the deaths aren't THAT bad, they show people being blasted but its more so implied.
I advised my sister to not take her 4 year old. He loves Transformers, he's seen the others, but after what I saw in the theater last night, this film is notably darker and more violent, with a much bigger emphasis on violence against humans. I wouldn't take a youngin' to it. I wouldn't say an example of bad parenting in action makes another ok.
