I really really need a good version of G1 Galvatron to come out. I just can't bring myself to buy the G1 version. It just isn't a great likeness of him.

Energon Galvatron is an excellent update to the original, he matches the on screen version very nicely. If the original toy is more your preference, Energon Megatron was based on that colour scheme.

Also of interest are the Super Link versions, which are the same toy, but smaller.

Additionally, Takara reissued the G1 Galvatron, with a show accurate colour scheme, which looks very nice. As far as G1 toys go, Galvatron is one of the best ones. The accurate one puts it over, in my opinion, although I love my old, grey Galvy as well. Got him Christmas '86, gave both my parents headaches with the SFX, and he not only survived the last 21 years, but he's actually acquired extra accessories! He's now packing two of his little black rifles for some reason or another.

I have a feeling the 6" Titanium of G1 Galvatron will be as close to anime accurate as a toy can get for that character... that is, if Don F's recent sketch of him is anything to go by. Much like the Titaniums of G1 Rodimus & Ultra Magnus, the one for Galvatron will probably also be the first ever accurate bot to alt mode figure made for that character. Which will be nice since the original G1 toy is so incredibley awful.

    Eh? Eh? EH?

We're getting a 6 inch TF Titanium Galvatron designed by Don? While I don't agree about the original being awful, I agree with you that that one will be very awesome. I'd recommend holding fire, then, if you want an awesome Galvatron and get that one at retail.

And I'll go clear another spot on my shelves.

Er.... has this been confirmed? He's not listed on the little Titanium checklist.... that only goes up to Skywarp. Has there been any info about the line continuing beyond that?

If so, great! Although I agree with Sol Fury that G1 Galvatron's not half bad... especially the purple Takara re-issue.

Its assumed, that going by the design of the cover of the book "The Ark" (a book featuring all the different G1 animation models) we may get a 6" Galvatron and Cyclonous, because the Scourge on the cover looks almost spot on to his Titanium form, and Cyclonous and Galvatron both look similar to their original incarnations, but there's still notable differences in the way they were drawn.

I think the Anime Galvatron does a good job of representing the G1 toon Galvatron once you rotate the crown on his head 90 degrees.

Eh? Nice! How'd you do that without breaking something? :)

EDIT: I actually think the G1 toy gets some pretty bad press considering how much articulation it has compared to most of its contemporaries. And being raised on the marvel comics, the original colour scheme never bothered me. Of course, I lost it in the Great Parental Blunder of 1997 so I had to buy the 'Mr Lilac' recolour as a substitute, and I must admit it's grown on me over time.

So they are making a Titanium version? I hadn't heard that. Is there a place I can view this drawing?

i would love a 6 inch titanium galvatron too. I do have to agree though, the anime galvatron reissue is pretty nice. I have one myself, and wasn't the toy made before the animation? So maybe its the toon doesn't look like the toy eh?
