Ohio Dad Who Shock-Collared Kids Gets 16 Years - Cincinnati News Story - WLWT Cincinnati

XENIA, Ohio -- A western Ohio man has been sentenced to 16 years in prison for disciplining his children with a dog shock collar.

David Liskany of Jamestown had pleaded guilty to charges of felonious assault and attempted felonious assault. Prosecutors had recommended a lighter sentence under the plea deal.

In court Friday, Greene County Common Pleas Judge J. Timothy Campbell compared the punishments to torture. He said the case sounded "like something from Guantanamo Bay." Campbell said the 39-year-old punished the children in 2006 and 2007 by putting them in cold showers, holding them underwater and using the shock collar.

The children are now 5, 12 and 14.

The case began after the oldest child walked for two days to reach a family member.

They should make that idiot father wear a shock collar while in prison and then the guards can zap him whenever he breaks the rules.

16 years? That's not even a life sentence in most states. Not enough time, IMO, he'll be out in 8 yrs or less and ready to violate his parole. Stuff like this makes me feel good that Pennsylvania's version of a life sentence is just that - life in prison. And here we're actually allowed to protect ourselves from psychos like this.

The worst thing about that is how he will probably NOT be punished even remotely to the level he deserves. It's times like these that I wish there were more vigilantes out there.

Well, lots of people suffer from the misconception that being a douchebag makes them shielded against all consequences.
