That could get rather annoying/distracting, actually.

Um....not exactly sure that would be a leg up. Doesn't x-box have the party thing where you can talk with a bunch of people playing different games?

    Leg up?

Seeing as this was possible pretty much day 1 on 360 and now features cross game chat for entire parties I'd say while an improvement, there are still some ways to go.

So wait, the PS3 went down to a reasonable price, is no longer XBOX HUEG, and is getting a party system? Next thing you know they'll be giving it gaems.

"leg up" made me lol. Steam already allows cross game voice chat.

You're paying either way. How much is that PS3 headset? $50?? The XBox headset is free with every console. So even though you are paying for XBL...every console owner has the hardware to use voice chat.

Wait, so this is pretty much Xbox live parties?

    Agreed.

And Xbox live isn't THAT expensive, you can pay $10 a month in Australia and if you really want you can pay $80 for a whole year and just save up until it ends.

    Thats what I do.

    I love the PS3.
I want PSN to have more features than Live and still be free so Microsoft will come down on the price -or something. Mind you, I don't mind paying $4 a month for the service but competition is good.

But how is it that the PS3 is getting a feature that the Xbox 360 has had since day one a "leg up"?

well, any bluetooth head set works for the PS3. And yeah, it isn't "That expensive" but how long has the Xbox been out? 4 years I take it.... and its what 50-60 bucks a year plus Tax? so for 4 years of online you paid around 200 bucks or so. Well, you get 3 months free when you buy the system so maybe less.

I've spent ZERO playing online. that 200 bucks goes into buying games:thumbs2:

It's about freaking time it this rumor is true. If they ever get party chat working, I may even consider dumping the XBox entirely.

I don't ever use party/private chat to talk across games. I use it for games I'm playing with someone else.

I just wish the PS3 friends list would work like Live's. Let me send cross game invites or see exactly what the other person is doing.
