i saw this random 8 year old at a park playing with this:

    WST Sixbuilder - G1 Combiners at KOTOYS.COM

he was putting this peice of crap in his mouth and shooting it out of it. do you think that hasbro needs to stop this stuff from being sold at dollar stores and bargain shops, too?

It isn't really a problem for hasbro...as it is not a hasbro product.
Having said that, I think the WST combiners add something to the TF fandom that was missing.

Then the parents really need to check what they buy their kids, there's no way you can blame Hasbro for this.

Maybe the parents should take some responsibility and either not buy the toy for their child, or not let their child buy the toy, instead of expecting the manufacturer to protect people from their own stupidity. Also, the Micromasters that this knock-off is based on were rated ages 5+ on their last release in the US. That means they're definitely safe enough for the average 8-year-old...assuming said 8-year-old isn't a complete idiot, which, again, is beyond the control of the manufacturer.

With Christmas coming we are going to be inundated by knockoffs. I was at Walgreens last night and they had a few deluxe figures, and then boxes of knockoffs ready to be brought out for sale.

wst combiners are great additions to that line, i fail to see why a kid with a cheap toy is a problem, all my friends and i had at least one cheap plastic toy, if he is eating it, that's his problem

the bigger problem here is the second grader sucking on a toy.

really would this be any different if it was a official release toy rather than a KO?

if you got a problem with kos than thats your deal. there are some great ones out there.

It's kids like that that ruined the missile firing toys for the rest of us, in my youthful days.

    @#!%%@% non-firing Boba Fett mail-away figure...
    Micronauts...
    Battlestar Galactica...

Sounds like the kid was enjoying himself, what's the problem?

If the kid and/or the parents are too stupid to avoid a choking hazard, an official release of anything won't stop that.

As has been said before, The kid is using the toy as a lollipop, that's his fault, and his parent's for not paying attention if he chokes. The fact that it is a knock off or real doesn't matter...

Knock-offs have dodgy paint sometimes though don't they? Lead-based or something?

Tastes the same to me though. :)

Speaking of knock offs, recently I came upon some fake TFs which were selling at higher prices than the real thing.
