Astronomers have discovered a habitable planet 20 light years away
.....with a twilight catch
so the habitable zone is a thin ring on the edge of day and night. Fuck that shit. I like my variable daylight. I think I'll not pay for a 1-way ticket to Gliese-whatever, and instead save up a little more to pay a scalper for Selena Gomez tickets.
That sounds like the planet where Twi'leks come from.
Half naked Twi'leks.
I'm pretty sure this will be the result

No problem, we can set up huge engines, tilted 45 degrees, on each side of the planet. Then, we just fire the engines up and start the planet slowly rotating. Or quickly rotating, if we feel like it.
But you have to take into account the fact the planet has stabilized the way it is. If we were to interrupt its natural cycle, it could seriously fuck up its stability. Imagine if we were to stop Earth's rotation. That would be chaos. Same goes for a planet that shouldn't be rotating.
Oh...man...better get my spaceship ready!
Let me help ya out there, Spoiler.
And let me steal the space ship so you can all go extinct here
nah I'm not that cruel. This news excites me So if we develop light-speed travel it would take us 20 years to get there, not bad. Wish it was a bit quicker. Hopefully in the future we will have greatly increased the life span of human beings, and I hope that happens soon. I don't want to die and miss out on the possible future my species has.
Pants, disengage. Pingus, engage. Activate forward thrusters.
Set primary charges.
I call the dark side!
All for myself.
Actually, if it is presumably perfect for us, I'm interested to see the life that is almost certain to be there.
They've got genitals for heads, and heads for genitals.
I don't get why they put quotation marks around the word terminator.
Anyway. I don't know about anyone else, but I would hardly call 10º Fahrenheit "habitable." You'll find me on the beach-side of Gliese-581g. Or get back to me after 100 years of dumping Carbon into the atmosphere.
A pretty amazing discovery. Hope to hear more about it.
Wonder what it's like living on the darkside of the moon?
I've got my bags packed, when does the flight leave?
