Just curious. I just ordered Scout Laserbeak from Toys R Us Online and I was thinking about updates for all of the tape transformers for Soundwave. It hit me that I remembered seeing Rumble and Frenzy under the Transformers United banner. Was there any official word why we didn't seem them (or windcharger and the hubcap rapaint) on our local store shelves. I haven't even been able to find a place for ordering the hubcap repaint. I was really looking forward to it.

HFTD/RTS lines weren't moving off shelves quickly, stores did not order the last waves, so they never showed up in stores, possibly never got manufactured.

Hasbro said they were looking for a place to stick them, but only time will tell.

Windcharger and Hubcap were both readily available at Five Below.

Because they enjoy teasing us with cool toys and then cancelling them. It's their thing.

Unfortunately that chain doesn't have a far reach like the big box stores.

But Five Below is on in like 25% of the country? Windcharger supposedly hit Ross and CVS around here, but I never saw him and bought from a member here when he hit Five Below.

Given how Hasbro was barely able to get Windchargers wave out, it isn't surprising Rumble's wave was canned. Anyhow, since Hasbrotoyshop actually picked up that "Ultimate Gift Set", maybe they are getting more receptive to collector money again. They could have sets like Rumble vs. Windcharger, Frenzy vs. Tailgate, or some other mix or a 4-pack or something.

The TU Rumble/Frenzy mold really isn't that great.

BUT I would totally buy both of your proposed sets.

It seems like a hobby Hasbro has picked up across several brands now. I wonder if they have some sort of office pool as to which brand can break the most fan hearts with cool stuff the fans can't have.

Agree to disagree. I think the set's completely awesome. The piledriver gimmick is perfect, and the 8mm peg weapons are a nice touch for the tank mode. It's got great articulation, and overall it's a solid update to a pair of classic characters. I don't regret at all paying what I did for the set.

    Why it wasn't?

RTS was winding down, and the Scout class was shelved.

If people are thinking about GDO..........if the mold was considered viable, i think they more likely would've jumped on it from the start.

I think it's odd that they didn't think the Rumble mold was viable for the GDO line. At least there would have been some demand for that figure. Was anybody out there asking for a Laserbeak with a humanoid form for their Classics collection?
