Well, let's get the party started: Here are a few quotes from another thread, but let us make this the "official" Radicons Meet up thread.
I have been giving a lot of thought to a get together. We could have a RADICONS custom show and class. Not only all of us getting together, but putting on a class and inviting anyone who would like to do some customs. We could decide on a couple of main guys for things such as painting, re-shelling, lights, ect. We could all do a custom and have it on display, them auction them off for a childs charity. I think if we can make money doing what we enjoy, we can also give back too, you know. Just some ideas.

Sounds like great idea! We could maybe start a new thread dedicated to "think tanking" this further. If we can agree on a time and place, and a charity I believe we could be on our way! Yes there are more central locations, but I think flights to Vegas are cheap enough for everybody, that is, unless you want to bring a bag with extra clothes and a toothbrush!!


I love the idea of open classes, I know I could benefit greatly from them. Plus it would be great PR for TFW2005 and Radicons!!

We would need to have an official name, meeting place, ideas for maybe sponsors, someone to be charge of getting a hotel and spot for classes. Plenty of more stuff. Please place all ideas in here.
This would be very cool too if TFW2005 wanted to get on board as well.

I think we all would like to met face to face.

I will volunteer my time to getting some paint companies to help sponsor. And I am pretty sure I can talk to the people I know at Iwata to help with airbrushes for a class.

 

The date would be around late Jan-Feb, maybe

While I have no direct ties or means, it seems some toy mags, clubs, or suppliers may see the benefit in sponsoring the event to some degree. Like you pointed out, your contact at Iwata may like the idea of loaning equipment in exchange for a mention like: Encline's master class on airbrushing using top o' the line Iwata airbrushes.

 

I'm down. I'll be able to drive there and back. If we want to stay on the strip cheap, the rooms at Circus Circus are Walmart low in price.

If anybody in Phoenix wants to drive down with me, PM me and let me know.

One other thing, we need to start a request list,, for us to bring a Radicon favorite with us. Redline has to bring Omega Supreme, F_R Devastator..sstuff like that.

Hell yeah! I'm in. If this all comes together, I would love to attend/contribute. I have wanted to meet all of you for a long time, but the cons are just too expensive when you add in the cost of the flight. Vegas is a great idea as well!

with my current financial situation, there's no way I could possibly attend such an event   I'm barely scraping by as it is. It would indeed be neat though!

 

  No that would be the easy answer.
Couple of reasons why I couldn't go.

1) No $$$, Me & my wife are still paying off the wedding from last year.
2) NO WAY is my wife going to agree to are first trip together,
to be as she calls it a "TF geek trip"
3) I work in the Snowplow business and can't afford time off in the winter months Nov to April.

What say you all come up here for TFcon next year. That way I could go

this is an awesome idea, and I am 100% on board.
Maybe if someone with a business mind could collaborate this to become an actual customization/classes convention, MANY other TF fans would show interest, making it both educational and affordable for the people attending AND "performing"

we could offer classes, admission prices and clowns.

 

I think the classes annd demos would be great, bt let's no forget the most important thing.
