Very tempted by that Armageddon set. The price is great but I don't have the Omega Supreme to go with it. Would it be worth getting just for the base mode parts to maybe use to enhance some of the Titans Return bases?

YMMV, but Walmart is clearancing the Titans Returns Leaders (Sky Shadow over here) starting at $44.

Right? "$44.00, was $44.96". But at least that tells us that 1) they're not ordering any more and 2) they'll definitely go lower in the next few weeks.

 

Leaders like Blaster and Soundwave are already $21 at some Walmarts.

 

Yeah, I picked up a Soundwave a few weeks ago. However, a few people reported seeing the later waves (Sixshot and Sky Shadow) still at full price. Do they have different SKUs?

 

I feel like the Walmart prices are too variable, store to store, for this to really be worth a drive. Unless you know, for certain, that your area store does the discounts. I'm no expert on the policies, but a while back there was some discussion on here about how each Walmart manager can basically decide on the discounts, and that there's more incentive NOT to discount items heavily - which is why you see the same junk in the clearance aisles for months/years, at the same "discount" price.  

Not to discourage anyone from having a look!   I just say Walmart "clearances" are too YMMV to affect the majority of us. Kind of like eBay buck deals!   (I keep clicking those links, and eBay keeps rejecting me!  )

 

I cant speak for Walmart but I work for Walgreens and a lot of our clearance is set by the company. It is different for each store as its based off sales and current inventory. A slow store with a lot of an item may get a steep markdown but a busy store with low stock might not get one at all. Not sure if they operate the same way. We can only mark things down if they are not still in our system as basic department item.

 

Mine got in Six Shot and Sky Shadow but neither was ringing up in the computer. The checker said the computer had shown them being clearanced out and assumed it was stock that didnt get clearanced out with the rest of the older TR Leaders. After conferring with a manager, they let me have Sky Shadow for $15. Decided not to press my luck with Sixshot too.

 

I think Brickseek lets you know what the price is store to store. It's pretty up to date too.
