    That seems like a rather silly reason. If there was one thing that was lauded about that figure it was that he replicated the original transformation. It was what he looked like after being TFed (both modes) that turned people off.

    Perhaps, but I get the impression Hasbro and/or Takara don't like to cover the same ground over and over again, transformation-wise, even if the goal was to make a better version of essentially the same toy.

    Just a web imageboard, often with "...chan" in the name. people often post joke pictures with commentary and such, similar to yours.

    Looks like his hip joints are similar to those on Cybertron Unicron. He doesn't look like he's as back-heavy at least. Still looks like one of the coolest figures in the Classics line.
