It looks like it could be a rather fun film to see.

I'm honestly more interested in seeing this then Wolverine.

    Why so much CGI?

(That's a rhetorical question, by the way...)

    Turd Alert!

Man that looks bad. It's like they rolled Mask, GI Joe, and fake CGI crap into one giant burrito. Call it Super Battlesuit Fighters, but GI Joe it isn't.

lol It's Gi-Joe, I'm honestly wondering what people expected?

Uh huh...How is that not like Gi-Joe again?

    Yes...I went there.

There was no where to go. GIJoe was at its worse during their Star Brigade/Battle Corps and neon color years (which killed ARAH btw). Seeing two Joes dodge missiles while running down the street in their Iron Man armor is just too much. Only thing missing is the neon.

Snake-eyes looks good. Strom Shadow not so much, but at least he's a white ninja.

But this is just my initial reaction and I'll get it a chance of course.

Well, the important thing is that you tried, son. Now get back in the basement, while your brother Michael Bay has dinner with the family.

I will agree, the armor suit things feel a bit goofy. Even for GI-Joe.

I like the MASK ref though. (Whether it was intentional or not.)

I couldn't think of another reference for Battle suits. Seeing the missiles firing from a transformed compartment reminded me of MASK.

Dunno about the suits. The cool thing about G.I. Joe that I liked was that they never used stuff like super suits or mechs all that often. I liked the decked out hummer. Like MASK meets G.I. Joe. Looks good, but the trailers aren't very well put-together to showcase it.

Looks exactly as I had expected. I was really hoping that a new trailer would push me to give it a shot. Sadly, it looks even worse than I expected.

Hell, it still looks like fun to me and still reminds me of Everything or Nothing. (Not sure I'd pay for it though).

How can anyone look at this and not see the fun potential in it? Seriously, that looks like a rock 'em, sock 'em hell of a good time.

    Stupid? Yes.

But dammit, I will be there and I will have fun.

And I'm not even a Joe fan.

They already surrendered to a combat heroes Cobra Commander.

I'll see this movie. It can't be any worse than the DIC version of the Joe cartoon. But it won't be anywhere near as good as GIJoe Resolute.

A friend of mine said this is a 90ies action movie made with today's technology, and she's absolutely right with that. :lol

    Indeed. :D

Resolute was just as bad as this movie seems to be. Only reason the fanboys claim it isn't is because it's one giant fanwank fest, though an admittably well animated one.

The animation in Resolute was indeed amazing (except for the abysmal 3d stuff). And it started off awesomely. However, poor writing, bad story decisions and an unsatisfying ending really brought it down.

The live action suffers from Stephen Sommers through and through. the camera works is very "Mummy" looking. The scene lighting lacks atmosphere, with everything looking like they are lit by stadium lights. That poor lighting choice makes everything seem vary fake looking and rubbery. And that goes double for those awful looking power-up suits. The action looks overly choreographed and stiff. Plus the horrendous line delivery made me cringe more than once.
