Brawl in Transformers Movie book

I found it strange that Brawl is named Devastator in the Transformers Movie book.

I know that the books are usually different than any of the movies.

 

The book is based off of the old script. Bay said there were lots of changes to that script. Although a lot of what we have seen in the trailers follow the book, he has said that we have not seen the best stuff. Maybe we havent seen those changes yet.
