Cool pictures, especially for Screamer. Still not liking the overall look of Ironhide, though.

Hm... Screamer's vehicle mode gives off a real Energon vibe what with the sword on one wing and a gun on the other.

I was debating on whether or not to get this guy, and I was already put off by the peg holes in vehicle-mode. Now that I've heard that the arms are that bad, I'll just skip it.

I might pick up a Deluxe Ironhide now, since this Voyager is less than impressive. The picture makes him look AWESOME at first, but when you inspect it, those shoulders are pretty bad. The alt-mode, however, is probably the best of the Ironhide toys!

Starscream looks like a really good figure, on the other hand, and he has that MechTech weapon that's a throwback to the Energon version. Nice.

I think so too. Honestly, from what I've seen, the arms aren't enough to change my mind on the figure. It sounds like the chest will take some tinkering to find that golden spot.

I did a simple mod to fix that the other day. But we shouldn't have to mod brand new toys for them to work properly...

I actually LOVE the new Ironhide mold, it's much more accurate overall (if you use the Recon guns). When you rotate the wheels in, you now have those bits which represent the interior of the wheels on the CGI model holding the bottom of his chest together, a fantastic touch. The legs also manage the kibble much, much better, and look like they can be collapsed to make him a little more stocky. In Peaugh's review, I much prefered the wing pieces folded back as opposed to actually looking like wings, and that adds bulk to his upper body. The arms seem awkward, but actually are attached that low in the movie. The original mold went for a more basic proportioned look as the actual model is a bit deformed in that sense.

    No shoulders? Wow, that's nigh-inexcusable.

Who does he think he is, Energon Wing Saber?

    Not at all.

I played around with the new Ironhide for hours the other day as well and I can honestly say it's the WORST movie figure I've ever handled.
The shoulders/biceps are so far receded into the upper torso that they are rendered utterly pointless. The elbows are halfway along the forearm, for some reason, so you end up with stunted arms which have almost no range of movement at all.

The chest is just as bad. Once you manage to collapse the multiple hinge joints in the front of the truck, the two halves just persist in getting the way of clipping them in to where they are supposed to go. When you do manage to use all your strength to force the clip into place, it just pops straight back out. USELESS!

His head is completely blocked from looking left or right due to the fact that the chest pieces sit so high. Unless he;s looking straight ahead, he can't see anything.

The legs are GREAT, except for the fact that they are way too long. They are a brilliant mold with lots of paint apps and detail, but they make the upper body look tiny. I mean deformed tiny. Whether that is a fault with the legs or the upper body is open to judgement.

Overall, you couldn't get me to take one of these for free. We had a lot of time to play with the figure and transform him and discuss the pros and cons and really, everybody just ended up getting disappointed and angry with how shit it is.

Astonishingly, the best feature of the figure - BY FAR - is the Mech Tech weapon. Although it does look like a robot sex toy once you start pumping it.

Wow, crushing reviews of Ironhide. :(  Saves me twenty quid I suppose, for about five minutes!

Starscreams weapon just looks better with every new picture.
