Haha! Very funny. $12.50 is a STEAL for me. The only place around here that carries it is Borders, and they want $24.00 an issue!

So, is this issue out now, or is this like every other magazine in the world and the October issue has actually been sold out since early August?

I'd rather put the $12.50 to work on another version of the "exclusive" dvd.

I've had this issue for over two weeks--it's not the "october" issue, as the mag is only released 4x a year...I've been collecting these since '93--it's a great publication.

Guys Cinefex is an amazing magazine. You won't find a more in depth look at the special effects for Transformers anywhere. It's expensive because it's a specialist publication with a limited print. And it's very collectible too I might add - some old issues of Cinefex sell for a small fortune.

Oh, and there's nothing 'beloved' about the Dewbot. It was lowest point of an already ridiculous piece of story-writing.

I skimmed throught the magazine and didn't see all the transformers. The only full body I saw was the DEW bot.

I actually reported this to tfw2005 a few weeks ago!

I don't know what I did to upset them, but I found this issue at the beginning of October, with Optimus on the cover looking through the glasses for the Allspark's location. I reported this here but they didn't even say anything at the time. I even offered to send them page scans to prove I had the issue.

Cinefex is generally really really good at in-depth FX articles to films (their coverage on 'Titanic' and 'A.I' are two of their best). However, their information on Transformers in this issue is sorely lacking. I'm sad to say I was disappointed.

I know that they have a finite amount of space to tell about things, but I was hoping for coverage like I saw with 'Titanic,' breaking down the most detailed of scenes. Sadly, most of the coverage was what I'd already read about. Only a couple items were of note:

1-The shot creation where Megatron and Prime smash through the building.

2-Information on Digital Domain's work on Frenzy, as well as the Nokiabot and Dewbot.

I was hoping for details about the creation of the 'arrival on Earth' reveal where we are fully introduced to the Autubots, or even breaking down the effects sequence where we first see Blackout transform.

At this rate, the 2nd disc for the DVD release tomorrow better blow my socks off. I must have socks blown off, I must!!

Well, y'know, I don't agree. I think he's rubbish. And this board has generously allowed me space in which to voice that opinion. I'm not listing the reasons because that will lead to trouble. Trouble usually reserved for the Movie Forum.

    People in glass-houses...:duel

But I digress, shame to hear that Cinefex isn't up to it's usual high standards. Bet the covers good though!

Wow, that's pretty disappointing. I'll have to pass on this then. Thanks for the heads up!
