According to a UK Government study...

Funny I always thought the person had to put food into their mouths themselves to eat? Or is this too simplistic?

(For those that don't get it, UK ministers use 'Thats too simplistic' to answer certain questions. IE. 'Why is there so much crime? Why not have more police officers?' 'Thats too simplistic')

    Having said that this bit got me laughing;

I laugh my ass off when I see billboards that read in GIANT letters, 'Hello there Fatty.'

And then not laugh so much when Anorexia cases shoot up.

We absolutely need those billboards here in the States. Without a doubt. It's an epidemic--or rather, it would be if it was a disease, which I don't believe it technically is.

    Still, obesity has two advantages.

    1) It'll keep me in business for the rest of my life.

    2) When the zombies come, it's just one more advantage I'll have. Obese folks will be easier for zombies to catch, take longer to consume, and move slower as zombies than me.

So maybe I don't want the billboards.

Thinnies get laughed at too. We're humans, we mock anything.

Since when can you not laugh at "thin'nies?"

Besides, there's lot of reasons why obesity is more obnoxious. It's easy to be overweight--being underweight takes effort. Being overweight means you're consuming more than your fair share of resources, and deep down inside, the tribal caveman in each of us doesn't approve of that.

Anyways, both things might be able to kill you, but obesity's more common by far.

Of course it's the person's fault. You dont want to be fat, do something about it. Another related and growing problem in the States is childhood obesety. I blame the parents for this. Sure, let your kid as much crap as they want. That's teaching them great eating habbits!

THANK YOU! I hate when people try to say being overweight is a disease. It's such a cop out to blame it on something so that you feel like it was beyond your control. Like the way people say drug and alcohol abuse is a disease. With that being said, I blame all of you for my being a fat ass!

I always thought the worst people to throw to the zombies to make a getaway would be alcoholics and old people. Both have shrinking brains. Also, would the amyloid from an Alzheimers patient give zombies indigestion?

Certainly there are some people who can lose weight, and then theres some of us that are born obese and it is a disease. You shouldn't make fun of someone who geniunely can't help it, who does eat healthy, exercises, and otherwise lives a normal life.

Seems like no matter what a person does it's harmful anyway. I went on the Atkins diet for a about 6 months and lost 40 lbs. That was the most horrible thing i've ever done to myself. When it boils right down to it, it's as unhealthy as being overweight since all the protein you intake is too much for your kidneys (from what I understand).

That the vibe I get from all these diets. If one's good for you, there's always a side effect. It's no different from prescription medicine.

    :lolol

I think the most dangerous place for a zombie attack would be China. They'd eat one, but be hungry again five minutes later.
Diets are indeed almost always unhealthy. That's why the best way to stay healthy is just to eat well--not diet, but eat well--and exercise.

A healthy diet is low in fat, especially saturated fat, refined sugar, and processed foods. It's also rich in fruits, vegetables, and whole grains. Favor lean meats over red (fish and chicken vs beef and pork). Eat many small meals instead of fewer large ones. Drink LOTS of water. Take a multivitamin daily.

20 minutes a day at least three days a week of aerobic exercise.

However, most research suggests that exercise helps maintain weight and health, but eating right is necessary to actually lose weight.

And no alcohol, but that's just crazy talk.

I'm fat, I know why, and I'm working on it. I've actually lost close to 20 lbs so far, so I'm on the right track. This is slightly off-topic, but, I was born 3 weeks premature, and still weighed 8 lbs. Then again, I was born the day after Thanksgiving :thumb .

Obesity hurts me. I lost all kinds of fat and now I can't find clothes that don't float on me. I've had to get rid of four or five bags of clothes.
