Well, got Starscream yesterday, and got all the paints today. He's all cleaned up, disassembled, and soaking in isopropyl alcohol. This time tomorrow I can begin painting.

The concept, if you haven't seen it:

Break up that green a bit, and it'll kick ass! It actually, not to sound derogative, reminds me more of the Beast Machines Buzzsaw figure.

I like it, but if I were doing it I would make the eyes out of Starscream's cheekbones.

I actually think this guy should be Waspinator...it don't fit Starscream at all.
As wimpy as he was in the BW, he looks badass with that upgrade.
    I like it!

I reckon it'll come out great. Just one thing though. I'd break up the green a little bit (like was mentioned above) by making it two tone green ie one shade of green dark and one light.

That really works well for Waspinator really well. I can not wait to see the finished product.

Use the green more sparingly, and that teal I'd use for detailing not panels like that. Just my 2 cents

I'm ambivalent about this one. It definitely needs something to break up the green. I would suggest doing the tailfin uprights in green like the rest of the jet body, then doing the automorph parts that make up the "pecs" in the blue. Also, doing the top half of the jet in a dark, maybe hunter green, and the underside in lighter shades.

Glad I'm getting these suggestions now, before I started painting. :D

I think a darker green interspersed with the lighter (as on the waspinator figure itself) might be a little more visually interesting, personally

There's a guy on seibertron.com who has a very nice waspyscream digibash in his sig as well, which includes some darker gunmetal detailing along with the gloss dark green, especially around the shoulders.

I can't wait to see the real fig repainted in Waspy colors, though. Something so ironic about such a beaten down character being given such a brute body:thumb

Well, Screamer's paint has been stripped. I'm painting him later, so if you've got any other suggestions, say them now.

I would suggest using actual camo colors as opposed to bright technicolor paint. Like a combination of moss green and olive drab

Looks nice. I'd go with abit darker green though. The bright green is just way to bright. maybe a nice forest green.

Yeah, the green was a lot lighter in the pic than I meant it to be.

Anyway, I've started painting. Just the green for now.

Hope it goes well! If it does, I might have to buy a second Starscream to do one for myself. I've got Botcon Waspinator and like him a lot, but this mold seems to be a good Waspinator one too. Hmmmm.... maybe pretend this is post-Beast Machines Waspinator after he found something better than that wasp-with-Thrust's-head body?

Green dried, so the first coat of yellow is on. Second coat and the black will go on tomorrow, as well as anything else I missed. Hopefully my stickers from Reprolabels get here soon.
