National Public Radio interviewed Hasbro CEO Brian Goldner today in their Entertainment segment of "All Things Considered." The interview and spotlight focuses on Hasbro re-imagining their brands from the 1980s with a special focus on Transformers. The audio version of the interview and analysis of the Transformers franchise will be available later this evening. You can check it out here. All Things Considered

Ever heard of PBS? The American Public Television service? NPR is radio's version of PBS. Both are funded by the Corporation for Public Broadcasting.

THIS! Anyone who is an info junkie like myself should listen to NPR. It will change your life. Well... at least it will expand your knowledge of world events and maybe even encourage you to join in on national discussions.

I'm not seeing a lot in there that is all that different to the interviews from when the first film came out.

The text available is not the whole interview. Just an outline. But there isn't a lot of "new" information. Just Goldner's rational as Hasbro's CEO and the direction he is going in and why.

This is not in the written version of the story, but in the audio Brian Goldner, the CEO of Hasbro, basically admits that cartoons were no longer as successful at selling Transformers like they were in the 1980s. He says Hasbro basically had no choice but to go the movie route.

I hate PBS. Mr. Rogers used to scare me.
