What the hell?
Holy shit. I hope everything goes well with the surgeries. And also that she is able to get the money for them. Someone needs to do a fund raiser for this lady. Hard to believe those things were in here for over 30 years.
Holy Shit! It sure sucks to be a girl in China.
QFT. That woman shouldn't have to pay for the operation, and if so, then at least not for more than one. This is just cruel and unfortunate. No one deserves this at all. And this supposedly happened because of what sex she was (a girl). That's just sad and horribly wrong. Fuck China and it's male-dominate society. THIS is what it does to those who live in it. Be they the criminals or the victims.
Wow...that is fucked up.
Damn, just damn!
Oh shit, my entire body feels really funny right now.
That's messed up.
Those grandparents are fucked up, and it's also fucked up that she has to pay for what they did to her. May the grandparents rot in hell
boys more important than girls? if there were only boys/majority boys then everyone would just age with no young people to fund their state -pensions
And for some reason, the Chinese culture still hasn't figured this out. You keep popping out/keeping only boys and you're not going to have any girls with which to make new babies. There is a majorly disproportionate amount of men to women in the country and it just keeps getting worse.
It's actually something they understand too well, in my opinion. As far as I am aware China, Japan are both over populated. Focusing more on boys than girls allows them to control the population a bit.
About your last statement, do you have any sources for it? I've not heard of any disproportionation causing issues, just that they had a lot of single men w/o partners.
Vague generalizations FTL?
Yes, it's truly shocking that multiple long-standing, ingrained cultural traditions and outlooks haven't yet adapted to a policy that's only been around for ~20 years.
Which is why the policy should be quite effective at reducing the population in the long-term. Not only is the birth-rate below "replacement" levels, but the next generation will have fewer women to produce children, thus reducing the population even further in the generation subsequent to that and so on. It's not like the cycle is going to be allowed to continue on to the extinction of the Chinese people or anything; once the population drops enough, the government would certainly relax/change the law.
Damn. A splinter is annoying in my finger let alone a bunch of needles poking my vital organs.
Damn, I'm ashamed to be Chinese sometimes. What the hell is wrong with these people?
I feel so sorry for her.
Heck, I feel sorry for Chinese women in general, but what was done to her is horrible.
The first thought that came to my mind after reading that; "Well, at least they didn't throw her in a river."
