Counting all the episodes and comics, after all, which Transformers: Animated character ended up being your favorite?

I would have to say Optimus Prime himself, we saw him start from a self-doubting fellow stuck with a crap team and grow into a true hero, he could barely take Starscream in the start but around the last episodes he completely destroyed a ship full of Megatron's strongest soldiers.

    Plus, his toys are awesome.

Megatron. Talk about a leader who's always 2 steps ahead of everyone, formulating plans that are well-thought out.

And his leader toy is <3.

It's all about Sentinel Prime. I never loved an Autobot so much for being such a dick.

I'd have to say Optimus, as well.

He's the character that seemed the most real. He wasn't defined as the "kid" or the "old guy" or the "big guy."

I love when he says "I dare to be stupid" in the episode 'Garbage in, Garbage out', because he's voiced by Weird Al. And Al wrote that song from Transformers the Movie called Dare to be Stupid...

I have to agree with this statement fully.

Autobot: defiantly Ratchet. Started out as the "old guy" and I was cool with that, but he was given so much depth, I just fell in love with the character

Decepticon: This one's trickier. Megatron on the one hand had an excellent performance, and was one clever bitch. But a lot of my love goes to Lugnut, for one being a fully original character, and just his blind loyalty was awesome.

You mean besides Ultra Magnus?(who gets automatic favorite character status just for being the show)

Hmm..Out of the main guys it'd probably be Prowl or Ratchet, but there a few minor characters that might have had the spot if we had gotten to know them better. Guys like Wheeljack, Perceptor, Rodimus, Alpha Trion, and almost everyone that we saw in the cyber-ninja dojo.

I'd have to agree. I don't believe any other Prime has ever had that much character development (correct me if I'm wrong) - usually they're depicted as the "head-honcho," "all-hail him", righteous leader. But Ani. Prime had to become one through his experiences, which was pretty cool. It was odd at first, but I really liked how he turned out.

On the con side: Blitzwing, for his crazy personalities, and Megatron for being pretty sinister and all-around awesome.

    Bulkhead, Lugnut and Sentinel Prime.

As original characters, they really rounded out the cast. They each filled a niche where there wasn't really anything in G1 to draw from. This is one of the things I liked about Animated. They drew from G1 when appropriate, and when they added something new, it was something worth adding.

Too often with previous incarnations of Transformers, they throw the baby out with the bathwater, and start afresh inventing new stuff that was already there to begin with.

Overall, Megatron gets my vote for being a deeper and more complex villain than the usual "out to conquer the galaxy" type. Granted that's still his goal, but he gets to be a lot more sinister and cunning. You get a lot of range of his intellect and genius, and you can see why he's the leader of the Decepticons. He's not just the strongest, but the smartest too.

Honorable mention to Starscream, who stole a lot of the scenes he was in and Lugnut who was a nice send up of the usual "blindly loyal servant" done to almost self-parody levels.

Autobots, I'm going to go with the whole main team. They worked out well as individuals and as a group. Their personalities played off perfectly against each other and they functioned far better as a team than any other group of Autobots ever before (except Beast Wars, but they were Maximals :p ). Truly a case where the whole was far more than the sum of its parts.
