..do you think we'll be able to play as both cons and bots? I also hope all characters who have shown up so far are in the game.

Until I know who the development team is I'm just going to assume it to be like most licensed games. Very generic and unpolished.

    Hopefully I am wrong!

Well actually with Cell Shaded animation which im assuming is what it will be that leaves a ton more resources to develop some good controls and game mechanics.

    HOPEFULLY.

What I would hope we see is really a nice linear game instead of like the movie game. The movie TF game really was just not that inspiring. Hell why not make an epic RPG with Animated I think with this version of TF anything could work if done correctly. Hell they should go 2D side scroller with this :)

Heck, even if they just altered a few of the smaller details with the TF movie game, it could've been so much more fun. (like getting rid of the stupid sheilds, making transformations faster, weapons actually do stuff to enemies and objects that are objectives, better vehicle controls, etc...)

Hopefully they make it a good game. Good Transformers game would be ideal, but if they can at least make it a good game I'll buy it.

I would defiantly want some sort of free roaming aspect.
Even if it's just a hub world.

I feel too constrained if everything is done through menus.

Worse case scenario is that it's like the Power Rangers: Lightspeed Rescue game for the N64 and PS1.

Hmph, well if people are going to cast derision at 2D side-scrollers...

My fingers are still crossed for Blitzwing PGA Tour Golf.

I'm going to go out on a limb here and assume that many of us transfans are learned in physics, computer science, music and art. If we can assemble a collaborative project, I'm sure we can pull off something way better than any developer whose primary concern is to rush a product out to the market as soon as possible.

We may be gifted in that, but we're not gifted in limitless funding.

Funding? I was thinking that we would work on a such a project in our spare time, for free. :)

Actually we could do that without spending a penny, there are some pretty good open source programs we could use to make a decent game.

Yeah, a 2-d side-scroller would be the best.

    I don't think a side-scroller would work to well for a well-rounded transformers game.
Although a scrolling shooter might be cool for those with flying alt modes.

IF it were to be 2d I'd want it to have an isometric view.

I'd be ok with a Gauntlet styled game

All mentions of it so far have for the DS only. If so, my interest=nil, and I shall just continue begging for a Marvel:UA style rpg.

    I really hope it isnt 2d side-scrolling.
The DS Movie games were great fun, and they were set out like the console movie games, just a lot better.

If you can't play as the Decepticons I'll be severely dissapointed.

It would also be epic fail if it was one of those 'top trumps' games they keep brining out over here.

a game with a sandbox style engine, and multiplayer death match *and other things like capture the flag, you know, like team fortress, or like how the quake 2 transformers game thing was going to be* lol

and that'd be all we need, for any tf game, rather it is based off animated, the second movie, the g1 guys, bw guys, doesn't matter lol.

just as long as we have multiplayer this time.

the number one thing the tf movie game needed, was multiplayer lol!

But there's not enough variety on the decepticon side to have different classes.

The autobots have a : Medic, Scout, Ninja, heavy, and an elite soldier.

The decepticons have been just different types of warriors so far.

If it had multilayer I'd want co-op a la Lego Star Wars and the X-men/Marvel rpgs.
Although I'm not a very competitive person.

well i was assuming that if there was a multiplayer, you wouldn't be playing the exact same characters from the show, yet, generic versions of them.

how ever, one could argue, that megatron is the elite soldier type
    starscream could be a scout
BA can be a Medic *or rather, opposite of a medic* *aka poison, and take their powers, rather then heal*
    blizwing could replace the ninja.
and lugnut, can be the heavy metal one.

they may all be warriors, but, they do differ enough to be different classes.

like starscream can fly, he could zoom around and what not. while many of the autobots can not follow him. and one could argue that he could be the same "class" as bumblebee or something.

how ever the cons would have to be weakened down to make the autobots more of a match.
but generally i'd think that they'd look the same, just be different colors for each player playing that "character" so they can name their own.

    just a thought :)

But then that wouldn't really be a transformers animated game.
Unless that was just part of the whole game and there was also a single player/co-op "campaign" mode where you played as the actual characters.

On a different note, I only see two downsides to it being on the DS.

    1. there is a good chance it'll just be shovel ware put out there to make a quick buck, and will have barely any effort put into its production.

    2. I won't be able to rent it at my local rental store. Although I guess that would mean the price would be lower than a console game.

well naturally it WOULD be just part of the game lol!

of course they would want to put some sort of single player in it.

in fact i hated the fact that tribes did not have a single player game, so yea i hate it when games are just multiplayer, yet i hate it when the games do not have multiplayer as well lol so yea.
