i guess this applies more to the demographic that was brought in by the movies, but now that the series is (tentatively) over, how much longer do you plan on keeping up with the franchise, mainly the toys? if/when dotm leader megatron and shockwave are released, i can see those being my last figures forever unless the movie line is rebooted or a must have masterpiece comes out.

i will try to get deluxe Soundwave, Dino, and for my Biggs Darklighter of the TF collection, i'd like to get Cue.

The past 2 movie lines have surprised us with good, even great toys AFTER the movie buzz died down.
i am fuzzy about release dates, but figures like RotF Ransack that were not in the movie (actively) kept me collecting.

who knows? we might get some breakout figures to reward our patience.

i want the TF: Prime Arcee and Wheeljack, but the rest of that line hasn't thrilled me all that much.

I'm done with collecting after the DOTM toys are finished, despite thinking the Prime toys look really nice.

Just feels like the right time to stop. I've been back in since RID and I think I'm almost at the point where enough is enough.

I've really enjoyed all the Dark of the Moon stuff I've bought though, despite smaller figure sizes.

I'll keep going. If the Prime toys turn out to be crap and the show begins to get crap, then I'll stop, probably. Unless there's another line to those who don't like TF: Prime. I think if you don't like the TF: Prime show and toys, you'll be saving a lot of money.

I highly doubt just because the movies are "done" I'll stop

I've been buying as long as you have, was it Christmas 95 or 96? lol

But the question is for those that came on board with the movies. I am interested in the answer because I want to know how many people will stay on board due to the addiciton.

Everyone here is a collector (collecting or not) its what happens after you find something to focus on..where does it end.

For me it started with Primal, Megatron and Rattrap and I am nearing the 1000 mark now. The only funny thing here is that so many were brought on board with the movies where as the movies almost knocked me out of TF.

Thank you Animated, Classics and now Prime for bringing me back. (It was actually 3rd party that really ignited my passion more than EVER)

I'm probably going to keep collecting, even though the movie is what brought me into the franchise. But there shouldn't be any problem since there's still some good media other than the movie to keep me interested.

Yeah, I'm overlooking DOTM toys for TFP, actually.

And I doubt that'll be the last TF line I buy in to.

Beast Wars started my plastic addiction, so the only thing that will make me stop will be money issues, and running out of room.

My last movie figure will probably be Deluxe Soundwave. Hatchet interested me, but not enough to warrant buying him. Leader Megatron is looking more and more unlikely, but I might be wrong.

Now that the movie line is slowly winding down, I want to start collecting Generations when they return to shelves. I'm also saving up for the Prime toys, which I'm really excited about.

I mean, why buy toys if you don't like them.

    Hmmm...great question.

I think I will still collect, though hopefully back to the pace I was at before, i.e. about 2 per year.

Prime looks cool but I'm not there (cliffjumper is an exception), but I think I will mainly stick with the great CHUG stuff and maybe the Masterpiece stuff.

I just really don't have (nor want to devote) that much display space to this hobby.

Meaning you're buying toys out of compulsion/habit, rather than actual like for them. This can debatably be called an addiction.
