I dont think you even watched last night episode Out of the Past because if you didyou would off never said that Cliffjumper would abandon Optimus Prime . Cliffjumper was the one who try to convince Arcee to join up with Optimus Prime and his crew.

I was sad then. I'm even more sad now. He would have added some liveliness to Team Prime. Maybe the new Autobot will do that.

Huh? Not according to the latest episode.

Atleast I now understand why he mattered so much to Arcee...i'm sad for Arcee now. I'd prefer him dead but i now care about their dynamic/friendship.

I wouldn't go so far as to say my emotional attitude toward Cliff's death has changed, But I do think this episode helps give the character a little more emotional weight, way more than the hi-then-die first episode.

The worst potential thing to me is Cliffy was set up as a smooth-talking operator / borderline con man, something rarely seen on an Autobot team (or other "Cliffjumpers", frequently portrayed as over-excited pains in the ass) and might have made for nice stories and character dynamics had he lived. Perhaps the incoming Smokescreenwhoever might end up filling that role as some in this thread suggest, set up by this episode.

He is wasted potential and I'm even sadder that he's dead now

Smokescreen from what i herd will probably fill the role since Nolan North said I'm playing that kind of character.

That kind of character would be a great addition to the team. Would spice things up a bit.

I wish bulkhead would of died just for the same same that Cliffjumper had to die. War can take the life of even the most loved. At least the show has had the nerve to kill off a couple of characters unlike several toon's where it seems everyone comes back to life or doesnt die no matter what *cough*Bleach*cough*

Seems to me you are teaching kids bad, really bad things if you show them there arent consequences to shooting or slashing people.

    Yes, I am. :(
Even though Cliffjumper is already likeable within the first episode of the series, Out of the Past really made me appreciate him as a character and his death now has more meaning and/or emotional weight to it.

Let's just say that with a total of about 27 minutes of screen time he has endeared himself to me more than any other character on prime

The new episode made me appreciate the character more and it showed why he mattered a great deal to Arcee. So while I'm not really upset I can see how Arcee felt when she first heard he died.

He was certainly a more livelier character yes but that doesn't make the other characters really boring, bland, and uninteresting. If anything it showed or rather gave us hints of how he mattered to the rest of the team and how they try to fight on in his memory. We already saw how he helped Arcee cope with Tailgate's death so I can imagine what he must've did for the rest of Team Prime. Like helping Ratchet to light up a bit about life,Treating Bumblebee as a kid brother,Having fun with bulkhead with smashing stuff and giving some needed hope for Optimus about how there are still young bots who'll go on fighting for what's right filled with hope.

So while it would've been great to see him not die at all I'm all right with the final decision. The rest of the cast is still interesting but it's still nice to see someone like Cliffjumper back again. And besides the new Autobot will likely be the same type he is. A cocky smooth talking wise cracker with a mysterous past so that way we'll still have that aspect on the show but in a new way.
