Babysitter accused of sleeping on toilet as 2-year-old wanders to canal with alligators

PORT ST. LUCIE — As the babysitter slept on the toilet Friday afternoon, the 2-year-old boy in her care wandered out the door and along the bank of a canal where two alligators had been spotted, a police spokesman said.

The child was recovered safely and returned to his mother, while the babysitter, identified as 26-year-old Brandy Albright, was taken to jail on a child neglect charge, said Officer Tom Nichols, police spokesman.

Albright reportedly lives in one part of an efficiency in the 2300 block of Southeast Seafury Lane, while the mother and the boy live in the other.

A witness found the boy around 2 p.m. and called 911. Police somehow determined the child came from the efficiency, and an officer went in the open door and found Albright sleeping on the commode.

No other information was immediately available.

I remember when I had a severe stomach virus. I was on the can constantly. I did fall asleep on it, because I had to sleep. It wasn't fun at all.

The first time I ever tried to stay up all night, I was like 15, I fell asleep on the toilet. But hey, I made it until like noon that day, so technically I was up all night!
Fortunatly, I didn't fall off, but when I woke up my legs were asleep. Lol

 

Worse is when you wake-up by falling off the can.

In bootcamp, people were so sleepy that falling asleep standing up wasn't unheard of, and it even happened to me once. I also fell asleep very often in a chair. If you had a long, exhausting day, a lot of people tend to be quite relaxed sitting on the can reading or whatever. I never fell asleep on one but I don't see it being that farfetched.

 

My sis has done it quite abit of times and fallen off, the docs blame it on her sleep apnea.
