A lot of people were questioning why I would sell nearly my entire collection. I won't say how much I got for it all, but I will say what I bought with the money.

    42" LCD HDTV
5.1 Surround Sound System with Upconverting DVD Player
    16gig iPhone

Last but not least, huge down payment on a 2008 Chevy Cobalt.

I'm very happy with what I bought with the money from my collection. I'd much rather have this stuff than all the robots collecting dust on shelves.

Was it mostly G1 stuff? Or newer stuff?

I kept most of my G1. I only sold the duplicate reissues. A lot of the TFC and TRU CS stuff. A few e-hobbies. Mostly BW, BM, and Botcon exclusives.

I was at Botcon in a dealers booth.

Cool. I've had the thought many many many times of selling everything and sitting on a big pile of cash... but I just can't bring myself to do it.

Whatever makes you happy, but the thread title instantly made me think "Whatever that is, he regrets it and is trying to convince himself otherwise."

Even if it's really true, it's kind of awkward to share such experience here. There should be a forum for ex-transformers collectors. Anyway, I try to stay positive with any kind of accomplishment for every fellow Transfan, from a purchase of an obscenely rare and expensive figure, to a complete focus switch on hobbies and priorities. Kudos to both.

I'm not an ex-transformer collector. I still collect G1. I just got rid of the rest. The feeling of excitement from getting all this other stuff and liking it more than the stuff I sold was what prompted me to post this.

I was sharing a booth with Megamus and Gen1fan. I was wearing a t-shirt with my avatar on the front on Friday. Then one of Alphie's Barricade polo's on Sunday.

Well I don't. It's your stuff and its your decision and I say good decision.
What brand of LCD TV did you get?
I'm planning on getting a Toshiba.

I bought an Insignia plasma screen from Best Buy. They said it was made by LG. Turned out to be junk. Had to take it back due to dead pixels after just three days. The replacement did the same, so I got a refund. Then I bought the Vizio from Wal-Mart. I'm very happy with it. No problems at all.

good to see that your money was well spent. If lots of high-tech gizmos is wrong, then don't worry about being right.

Also, I just want to say sorry again if I was in your way on saturday, what with my two huge bags and all. I was the guy in the du-rag who traded the MIB G1 inferno to Gen1Fan. You guys had great stuff and great prices, and it was a pleasure dealing with you all. I hope to see you again next botcon.

Actually last August I sold a very small chunk of my G1 collection and was able to get a 40 inch Samsung LCD. Totally worth it, no regrets, though I do miss some of the figs I sold.

I'm thinking about selling all my stuff off soon too. I don't like all the space it takes up and the TF universe has gotten too convoluted for my tastes anymore. Just not a fan of much that Hasbro is putting out anymore.

ahh, you got a visio. how much, may I ask? I bought, but then returned b/c the fiancee said we didn't have the money for it at the time, a 37" visio from there. I was quite happy with the picture, and it was cheap, too.

Cool stuff man. Been thinking of selling off most of my A/E/C stuff because I really have no use for any of it nor is on any display.

Even if I wanted to sell my collection, I would never think that I would have enough for all that...good for you!
