Nostalgia Critic (sort of): Transformers 3 Review Watch the second video for Linkara's opinion. The first one is for fun.
I listened to his review and cringed. I really don't see how DOTM is the same as TF1. I mean maybe if you generalize the living fuck out of it and say "Oh yeah robots in a city" Then yeah they're the same. Go any deeper then that and then the statement falls apart.
The Critic is awesome, but he dropped the ball on that one, all of his complaints were pretty much explained in the movie itself.
Posted in the NCs ongoing discussion here- http://www.tfw2005.com/boards/movies-television/231569-nostalgia-critic-discussion.html A lot of the reviewers from TGWTG have posted their reviews of DOTM. Spoony, Nostaglia Chick, Cinema Snob (Brad) etc. The overall (popular) vote is it sucked.
I generally like that site, but I've found the reviews of this movie on that site to be a bit...strange. This one seemed the most reasonable and genuine of them all. The one where Spoony and that other guy complain on the phone for almost 2 hours was crazy, especially after complaining that the movie itself was a waste of time. They really just came across as obsessed and bitter struggling writers. They put everything in the worst possible (or even not possible) light--and this wasn't an in character review either as far as I could tell. For example, they saw the credits scene with Mearing and Simmons as a sickening sexual assault. Huh? Then there's the not-quite-as-long review by the Nostalgia Chick, that grumpy blind-folded guy, and some other apparently drunk woman. It was just weird. Has that site reviewed any other movie in this magnitude before?
I was more entertained by Film Brain, and I could just imagine him going all-out on this in the same fashion as ROTF (that one was 2 parts long). I can hear his British Accent regarding some things right now: On Sam: It's been an interesting progression for Sam Witwicky. In the first movie he was an annoying teenager. In the second he was a whiny pawn/mcguffin for the Autobots and Decepticons, and in this film, he's a whiny little crybaby. Never mind the fact that the government paid for his college, he's got a hot girlfriend who gives him lunch money and allows him to stay rent-free at her place (for reasons we probably will never comprehend), but he just wants a job. Simmons: "Yes, John Turturro is back, and thankfully, he keeps his pants ON this time. Carly talking to Megatron: Yes folks, one of the biggest baddies in the universe is so down on his luck, that he needs a pep-talk from a skinny blonde humanoid in order to grow a pair.
