I haven't seen it myself, but given that it's a silent movie from the 20s or 30s, I doubt you'll find it too scary. Whether or not you like it probably depends on how much you like vampires and/or German silent films.

It's not scary, but is creepy - some of the images will stay with you. It's considered a classic and one of the best movies of the vampire genre.

If you like it, there's a movie called Shadow Of The Vampire that came out a while back - it's basically a "making of" Nosferatu with Willem Dafoe playing the lead. It warrants mention because Max Schreck, who plays Count Orlok in the original movie, supposedly never broke character while the movie was being made. He actually started believing he was some sort of vampire.

It's not going to scare you because it's a movie from 1922. I saw it in a theater last Halloween with a live orchestra playing the music to it and there were people behind me who wouldn't stop laughing at it. However I personally love this movie. It's a classic. Its the first vampire movie ever made - and it's actually based off of Bram Stoker's Dracula, but because they couldn't obtain the rights to Dracula they changed the character to Count Orlok; or Nosferatu which translates to: "The Plague Carrier." Parts that stick out to me are Orlok coming through the doorway, and his shadow on the wall when he reaches for the door. If you can't appreciate old movies and only like modern stuff then you'll hate this movie, but if you're like me and appreciate cinema's past and dig old school movies then you'll love it. When you're done with it go watch Shadow of the Vampire.

Isn't that the movie where the actor of the vampire is actually a vampire?

It might be an old movie, but to this day Orlok is still one of the best vampires ever portrayed in the movies. He's no pretty-boy, and you need to remember that in 1922, he was damn scary, and to this day he'll still scare kids who watch the movie. The doorway scene, the boat scene, and the scene with his shadow creeping up the stairs are very well done. After you see it, check out modern versions of Orlok to see why he's one of the best vampires there has ever been.

That movie was also the one that created the "vampires die in sunlight" myth, so it was very influential on vampire myths.

That's the way they portray it in the movie - but it's based off of urban legends.

Check it out. it is almost G rated by today's standards.
But if you approach it like it is a campfire story (that's how i approach a lot of older horror) then you may get a creepy kick out of it.

It's a wonderful silent movie and it's worth a watch no matter what anyone says.

I have that too. I'm intrigued that that was available at Wal-Mart. I don't think the Type O Negative version is the ultimate Nosferatu experience, but I like it. But that's just because Type O Negative is one of my most favorite bands. I've seen'em live multiple times.

I can't take Nosferatu seriously after that Spongebob episode.
