Twighlight won best movie at the MTV movie awards.
It's a sad day in human history. We went from TFTM to some lame teenage chick flick?

I am rather irked by this.

MTV Movie Awards are not worth getting excited or upset over.

    It's... MTV movie awards?

It's been how many years since MTV mattered?

    Yeah. It means nothing.

Given the thread title and OP, I was expecting that Volkswagen had filed for bankruptcy or something. I was severely disappointed.

Newguy, you should take into account that a large portion of the people who watch MTV are teenagers. The girls generally like that movie (well, mainly the books, but since MTV doesn't have a book award they'll use the movie as a proxy), and the guys like the girls and can be talked into voting for almost anything for the promise of some... physical interaction.

You're never going to find an Michael Bay flick winning the Best Movie Academy Award, and most of what will get the MTV movie awards are going to be pop culture movies with little intellectual merit, generally scraped from the bottom of the A-roll barrel.

Aw, icky. Yuck. What is so special about it, its stock standard teenie vampire schlock. I need a drink. :drunk
Still, there are probably many people that say 'whats so special' about 'Blade Runner'...well, not many, a few maybe...some?...OK, maybe two people. :sly2:

To borrow a poplular phrase from my day, but I don't want to get off in a rant here but because MTV's target audiences are teenagers, either goth/ emo/ whatever individuals who whenever I see them in public I start to feel old and glad that I was never in any popular cliques in Hight School:lol

MTV hasn't been MUSIC Television since the late 90's, and it make me sad at times that the good old days of regular rock and roll on MTV are gone, replaced by who knows what, the same with movies and books. In my day, the "tortured vampire romance" was Buffy the Vampire Slayer/ Angel or even Dark Shadows, if there are any older fans out there. We didn't have the power of Orlando Bloom or that EmoVamp kid, we had Bruce Willis, Arnold, Stallone, Kurt Russell, the Grim and Gritty comic book phase, Spider-Man was married, Transformers where still on the mend from late G1, and George Carlin, Phil Hartman and Richard Jeni where still alive! Now we're stuck with emovamps, twigs as actresses who are somehow hot, Apatow overload (another sad state of affairs) In the words of Dennis Miller, of course, that's just my opinon, I could be wrong

The only difference between the MTV movie awards and the Nickelodeon teen awards is...
MTV doesn't nominate Spongebob every year for something.
IMO, those 2 are almost identical in scope, audience and taste.
Honestly, the moment a 12 year old snaps back at their mom or starts talking like they are wiser than a billion parents, MTV tags them and tells them they are adult enough to vote on the "Big People" awards show.

I bet you digitally altered say, Scott Baio's images from his "Happy Days" period, slap on modern stuff, you could fool enough snotty brats into thinking he's a real teen idol (again.)
would be a cool prank to punk the know-it-alls with.

i digress. MTV awards= apathy from me.
